-A commission completed for Sitka of Furry-Paws.com,akaIn my opinion most red siberians have an attitude that announces "Why waste time? Just give me the ribbon." They *know* they are something special and demand the spotlight. But this is just my experience
A new coloring style was applied. I went back to basics with some soft shading and minimal cell-style. My goal for this was to thoroughly convey realistic siberian anatomy while still with a caricaturistic flair. It was heavily influenced by a certain red siberian who has been ripping up the Show circuit...see if you can guess who

It's funny,the artist of today(myself semi-included) have turned the Siberian into the funniest looking creature- overly snapped tails with waaay too much chest/tail fluff! People seem so shocked to see a sibe with normal coat distribution LOL Just a funny tid-bit,but I understand what you mean ^___^
I think I made her look a little too dog-ish though. I thought the lack of sheath would signal gender

Were you there? It was the CKC's (Columbia Kennel Club) annual all-breed... A friend of mine's dad owns/handled a red Bullmastiff that won BOB there- Big Game's Maximillion "Max" (he's a very sweet dog).

Yes indeed; She performs pretty well for me in the ring
We all start out with those. Infact, I'm attending the National Speciality with my sister, and she is showing my BYB obedience Siberian in her class -and that dog is put together with odds and ends!(long back,short neck,too tall[DQ for breed ring],and her tail snaps too much!) That's the good thing about Juniors; Your dog can be a car wreck, but as long as she/he works well with you, you can show with the best of 'em!

Heh, Jay is my first GSD- I'm going to buy a nice, show quality male next time. I love Jay, and I know about how Juniors can show altered, registered dogs, but Jay is aggressive to both people and dogs (I'm afraid she's a fear biter- sire had a horrible temperament)... She's got a wonderful gait, though!

I've heard the GSD ring is *very* political, so I'd definately watch your judges once you get a dog to show, but other than that the shepherds look like loads of fun!

DEFINATELY right. I have a red siberian husky, and he thinks that he is the alpha and is dominant over our Great Dane. He always captures our audience and those of others with his bright blue eyes. I really wanted to show him but my mom got him neutered

I think you succeeded, Dia! This is beautiful.. look at all that floof! Red sibes are gorgeous indeed and you hardly ever see them in art D: I'm loving the minimalism and the slight but effective lines you put in to show the muscles and how the fur falls. too awesome

Aww, this is lovely! I had a red sib...years ago..she was the best dog I've ever had. She was so, so pretty..
