~tanabatablossom shares a great tip about egg whites: "Make sure the room temperature is cool or beat the egg whites in a bowl that is sitting in ice water to keep the egg whites cold or else they won't form shiny peaks. Who knew?
A couple of days ago, when I received a DD for my polymer clay waffles tutorial I got so excited about making more tutorials! Luckily I found the photos for this tutorial sitting forgotten in my hard drive, seems like I took them more than a year ago
This is one of my oldest recipes. I think I've done this since I was 14, and it's so good! The cake is soft, fluffy, light, and just perfectly sweet... I don't like things that are overly sweet
I hope you guys find it useful

came out quite decent...the 6 eggs that u said i shudve added dint seem right as the final had quite a bit of the eggs presence in it...messed a little with the final texture too..im guessing 4 instead of 6 would do that trick..another annoying part was that i had to sit beside the cooker to hold the damn start button down so it wudent auto shut..which is its true function once it thinks the "rice" is done...but according to public review (hostel mates ) it was quite good and wanted me to make more...which i will on this approaching weekend.

Perhaps your eggs were larger than mine I always have to tweak recipes a bit too, just experiment and have fun!
Anyway, I'm glad you received good reviews!
I've never tried cooking it in a rice cooker, but now I can't stop thinking about it! I don't know why but it sounds like an interesting experiment.

ROFL! so true, too! I actually started making more of my own baking and sweets because everything has so much sugar! Diabetes is also a huge problem in my family, and it's hard to find recipies made with little sugar. I love this one! it's good without being too sugary, and everyone in my family can have it! Perfect birthday treat!

Your tutorials are awesome! Love the recipes and the humor you add to your blurbs One thing about beating the egg whites (this happened to me this Christmas while trying to make macaroons) - you might want to add the tip of making sure the room temperature is cool or beat the egg whites in a bowl that is sitting in ice water to keep the egg whites cold or else they won't form shiny peaks. Who knew? It didn't occur to me until it was too late. Just a thought in case anyone else runs into that problem.
Thank you for sharing these with us! It makes me want to be adventurous in the kitchen again.

Hi Talty! You're welcome and your sense of humor makes you very accessible and it's a great trait to have
I'm glad if my tip is of some use to you or anyone else. And I was adventurous last night though I stuck to simple peanut butter cookies. Strangely enough they turned out great! Maybe one day i'll make it to more difficult things. If not, I'll just be ruining a perfectly decent kitchen, lol. Speaking of ... good excuse for a renovation
Thanks for your reply and Happy Valentine's Day!

MarillTachiquin In reply to Talty [2010-12-30 04:27:33 +0000 UTC]
