This is the technique I use for making miniature waffles, absolutely not the only technique but the easiest I've found and without any special tools or templates

Although, since I'm kind of a beginner at polymer clay model thingies, I have a question, what is the difference with TLS and Glaze?

Don't worry I was a beginner not long ago, so feel free to ask me whatever you want, I love to help!
Ok first, TLS is the white bottle with the black cap I showed in the first picture. TLS (Translucent Liquid Sculpey) is basically the same thing as Sculpey, but liquid, and has to be baked to harden. It's translucent, but opaque, and you can also color it with a bit of polymer clay or some pastel chalk. For my waffles I used it to make the syrup, here to make the melted cheese and here to make the chocolate frosting. Fimo and Kato have their own translucent clay.
Glaze is not clay, but is applied over clay to give it some shine. All polymer clay brands sell their own glaze, but you can use any kind of water-based glaze you find, most people use wood glaze because it's cheaper. You can also use nail varnish, but it's less durable. Whatever you do, make sure you use water-based glaze or it will never dry over polymer clay.

Aha I see, TLS is a kind of clay you use to make those "watery" and "liquidy" forms in the models, yes? Okay. . . Just one thing, they're not runny stuff like normal water, right?

TLS is not runny, it has the consistency of thick white glue

I tried to make the waffle, I have a picture of it up, but I can't get my syrup to look right. Is Fimo Decorating Gel better than the Liquid Sculpey for making syrups??

Yes!
-Fimo Decorating Gel is better because it's clearer. You can still get good results with TLS, but use Fimo's if available.
-Use only a tiny amount of pastel shavings, if you use too much it will loose transparency and will look dull. Use only enough to color the syrup.
-Give it a good thin layer of shine! It makes the syrup look moist and tasty.

Aaah que bien! Acabo de ir en Abril por un congreso y esta bien bonito, me quede en San Andres Cholula y Puebla capital se parecia mucho a Chihuahua, de donde soy originalmente (me vine a estudiar).
Y ya encontre las rondanas, bien baratas! Tal vez la siguiente quincena compre alambre delgadito y unas pinzas para que mis figuras se puedan colgar.

Aca en Monterrey tambien hay ciudades pegadas una de otra (de hecho son como 6 o 7), asi que no me sorprendio. Aunque mi novio y yo casi nos vamos al otro Cholula porque nos confundimos de camion jajaja y tambien nos confundiamos de calles en Puebla porque todas se llaman algo relacionado con el 5 de Mayo, pero bueno, tenian que sacarle provecho, es el dia especial de alla jeje
Aaah si, me encanta cuando puedes encontrar sustitutos economicos pero que funcionan de maravilla para cualquier manualidad. Solo no he encontrado ni de la plastilina ni del TLS. Lo bueno esque me queda "cerca" Estados Unidos, asi que aveces me doy la vuelta para alla.

En México venden Sculpey y TLS! También me costó trabajo encontrarlo, pero lo venden en El Nuevo Fénix! Hasta ahora es el único sitio donde sé que se puede conseguir: [link] Esa es su página y ahí vienen las tiendas que hay, no dice que tengan una en Monterrey.... pero de cualquier manera investiga! No actualizan muy a menudo su página, como tal vez te hayas dado cuenta por la decoración de Halloween, así que tal vez ya abrieron una tienda en Monterrey.
Sale bastante barato, porque el Sculpey te cuesta 16 pesos por pieza, 14 pesos si compras 12 ó más

Tienes razón! Ya revisé y si se puede pedir a otros estados. La única "trampa" es que tienes que hacer un pedido mínimo de 500 pesos, al menos, ya no te cobran el envio (creo). Aun así es bastante, pero si trabajas mucho con Sculpey, te saldría bien

Como sujetas tus figuras? Puedes hacerle un agujero con una aguja y ponerle un aro de alambre para sostenerlas, o bueno, hay varias técnicas que funcionan bien

Pues voy a ir a Guadalajara en octubre, asi que puedo ahorrar un poco extra para comprar un buen de barras. Conociendo a mi novio, se va a atacar ("enojar") por comprar tanto mugrero jajajaja pero valdra la pena. Yo no tengo cuadritos, sino como "muestras" de cada color. Son 1 onza cada uno, asi que mejor tener las dos onzas de una vez. Compre extras de blanco, traslucido y colores primarios por si las dudas.
Se sostienen solitas. Aun no compro alambre para hacerlas para colgar (tal vez el lunes).

Me intereso porque vi algunos tutoriales de DA aquí hace como 8 meses. Me gustó lo que hacían de Sculpey y decidí probarlo yo también! Mi novio encontró donde la vendían, y desde entonces he estado practicando.

A mi siempre me ha gustado moldear con plastilina y hacer figuras, pero siempre me molestaba que se terminaban llenando de polvo, tierra y mugre y pues no podia hacer nada para limpiarlos porque eran plastilina comun, y pues se le pegaba todo, los colores se mezclaban y/o con el calor las piezas se desprendian y tenia que tirarlos con el dolor de mi alma.
Luego de volver al DA (abandone esta cuenta por muchos a;os jeje) descubri el Sculpey y decidi probarlo y me ha encantado! Lo malo esque tengo que guardar muchas figuras antes de poder hornearlas, pero almenos no se desprenden o se mezclan los colores ^^ (en especial el amarillo)
