(The Amphibian Girl, witnessing this pathetic attempt of mine to get flirty with the Vulcan gal, standing some distance away behind T'Shaara in the same pool and listening silently with a half-incredulous, half-disgusted expression on her flat green face, rolling her eyes and pretending to hold her non-existent nose, later acidly comments "Oh, yeah, John, th' only reason she wern't convulsin' with laughter an' simultaneously demandin' you do her then an there after hearing that truly hee-larious idiot joke of yours must have been on account of her excessive devotion to cold logic an' all! Sure, you keep tellin yourself that if it make you feel better! What the hail was you thinkin' when you..." Etc, etc, at some length. Amphy is a relentless believer in tough love. "It th' duty of a friend to give another friend a boot in the ass when necessary an it only for your own good..." )
(No, I don't know how or when Amphy signed on with Starfleet. She'll work for fish, though.)

Well, Amphy's a relentless believer in toughness, I'm not entirely certain that love actually enters the equation for her, but she sure as murderin' anyone who says otherwise feels a certain something for Bog the (half-swamp-guy) Barbarian, as well as a distinct motherly protectiveness towards her dear sweet 'P'.
Also, she was nice to me at least once. But also tough. 'Cause she's tough.
