I honestly wish people would open their eyes more here. Ian Flynn out right flip flopped and admitted that he was trying to get rid of the freedom fighters instead of saving them, and yet people still ask for him to bring them back or respect him.ΒLook guys, you can call me a penders fan boy all you want, but I don't respect Ian because he hasn't earned it. I'm sorry but he's just as bad as most sonic fan boys in this fandom, he's been acting like a dick lately online, and he's getting opportunities he really doesn't deserve in my opinion. Overall, I think Ian should just come out and say the F.F aren't happening in the comic, I don't care what anyone says, if Sega was all for listening to the fans, then they'd listen to us, and let Ian use them in the comics.Β
I mean come on now, you mean to tell me Sega is going to listen to all that stuff about what fans said about the games, yet nothing about the F.F being in the comics? Well excuse me for being skeptical...

Honestly, I doubt the Freedom Fighters are ever going to truly come back, and even if they did, I feel they would be radically different and fans wouldn't be happy, thus causing the cycle to start anew once more. I know fans are REALLY eager to have the FF come back, but honestly, I have my doubts.
While I do have problems with Flynn, he's just saying what he is told to say so he can keep his job, because if he told the truth, fans would riot or Sega would fire him, and he's likely under some kind of non-disclosure agreement that he cannot give out the EXACT details of what is going on.

I wish he will just say yes or no. but to be honest I wouldn't buy the comics even if the FFs come back because the way they treat lot of their fans and one of the artists by making racist remarks about white people. :/

I always figured there's something deeper to him just not wanting the Freedom Fighters in the comic. It's his desicion either way but I feel with Sega's more alert lookout on the comics they're probably expecting themselves to enforce more this time around. I mean Flynn made the desicison to have this two continiuity bullcrap to appease the higher ups. This is something most of you don't get but he's a writer nothing more or less and he can tak liberties when he wants but you're always under the lookout of someone else. It's a main reason why people can't get too crazy in DC and Marvel these days.

This was why I always gave him the benefit of the doubt, he did from 06 all the way to the reboot, which even then was still better then the games. Point is, only after the reboot and SOJ shoving thier shit where it don't belong did he start fucking up. Not that I approve of some of his conduct as of late but it's starting to make me think this shit with all these people being in these little groups that attack anyone for saying anything goes deeper then it seems, especially since a lot of people now defending Flynn would most likely be hating him and the comics had nothing changed.

I could see him jaded from this shit if people are trying to contact him and give him flak for some stuff that might not be him trying to intentionally annoy people. I also don't agree with his conduct but this can just be a product of constantly being bugged by certain things and I can image every single day getting messages about the freedom fighters can make anyone sound pushy or irratated to where they act in a discordant way so they run to places like here or Youtube to go "HERE SEE HE'S A PIECE OF SHIT".
To teamrandom and anyone you might not every get the "straight answer" and it might not be what you want to hear so like I've tried to tell people just leave him alone and if he wanted it to be in the comic he would or wouldn't make it but then again this might not be his choice to have the Freedom Fighters present. I just can't help but to give him the benefit of the doubt and not go on this complete flatlined crusade to see everything he does unanimously negative.

I mean look grand, everyone has a right to be upset when people refuse to give out information. Idc how much of our business it is or isnβt, people are paying for the comics, they deserve an answer and if not, they can just not pay for it.
Also even if writing isnβt his fault, Ian is far from perfect, looking right at his fandom with that.

What if not everyone cares about having the Freedom Fighters though teamrandom. The hardcore reader like you and I who are into deeper details of Sonic are probably the only ones who actually care about what could be miniscule details to the comic. Pestering Flynn about this like I said could have led to such a backhanded response which I'm not saying was necessary but still. It's a comic at the end of the day which is an argument I'd HATE to bring up but must of this Flynn hate is just overblowing situations for the same of having something to complain about.
Yes people are paying for this (not me lol...I got websites that upload this crap for free) but you're equating your own issues from a VERY small minority onto what you think is a heavier issue when it is not.

Like wise though, I can easily say that he is certainly lying about this whole legal rights thing.Β
I'll always enjoy his pre-reboot stuff but I don't blame you for hating him these days, He's lost a lot of my respect too.Β
