Description GDS-PA1

Primarily designed as security mecha for use in today’s urban environment the GDS-PA1 has proven that it can handle much more than its original security role. Recent tests have shown that the PA1 series of mecha are more than capable of acting as infantry units on the battlefield, fighting alongside and long after their human equivalents.

The ability to wield tools, equipment, and even weapons designed for human use make the PA1 more versatile than most similar mecha.

Height: 185cm
Weight: 145kg
Max Speed: 64km/h

**Designers notes**
This time I challenged my self to design a humanoid mecha that was somewhat realistic in terms of degrees of freedom etc. I’m quite please with how this mecha came out, but I have found that the only colour that suits it is black/dark grey. I can imagine this moving with the same kind of agility as a human and being quite aggressive if needed. What do you lot think?

Can't stop to imagine them taking a building during a coup d'Γ©tat.

Did read too much Archie Sonic

I can visualise one of these walking through the ruins of a shopping mall, crushing long-dead human skulls underfoot, weapons in each hand.

What you have done is create an image of what an early terminator type droid or mecha would most probably look like.
Most similar designs are in fact far too human-looking.
Where your design succeeds most admirably is that given current technology, this is the closest rendering I have yet seen to represent that which is actually buildable.

An extremely laudable design, for which I congratulate you.

Kind and Respectful Regards, Uyraell.

It's clean appearance is very good, but had a bit of "dustbin" also; spherical joints are good in terms of freedom of movements, but are also difficult to engineer.

a vector is such a good render...!

are those 4 gaps in the frontal armor supposed to be a place where you could attach something extra?

That sounds good to me, I didnt think too much about it, but i needed something to breack up the shapes a bit and I think those gaps worked. i was thinking something along the lines of either what you said or some kind of exhaust or even sensors.

Now you say it a light weapon would fit in there nicely...

Lookin' real good! I like the designs of the body parts, simple but not too simple.

However I disagree with Oblivious' comment. Unless stated that it was 'designed' for it the colors you have now are just fine... If anything, some sort of Security insignia or a design to represent its current objective as a 'guard' or security bot.

Thank you very much!!

I like the idea of some kind of insignia for these guys, i'll have to think on that! cheers.

Pretty nice. In terms of freedom of movement, your joint arangement is pretty good. As for the colors, if it's going to be used in a soldier role at all, you might want to try some form of camo, be it urban, nightwatch, jungled, desert, etc.

Good work though ^_^

Thanks for the comment
Cammo would be suitable for units filling an infantry role but as these guys are guarding a building i wanted them to be visable as a deterant!
