And yes, I know his shoulders are weird in a few of them, but oh well.
Anyway, I did this as a response to an old meme called "character is..." which ended long before I found it, but there wasn't a Zuko one, so I decided to do this just for fun.
Avatar (c) and Sokka, Toph, and Zuko (c) belong to Nick and Mike and Brian. The Phantom belongs to Gaston Leroux, Susan Kay, and Andrew Lloyd Webber (but mostly Leroux, even though he died 80 years ago).

I'm not entirely sure what you meant, but I shall try to answer anyway: the european refference is based on the fact that the cultures of Avatar are based on a conglomeration of a number of different eastern cultures, not western/european cultures. And just about every dance related zutara fic I've ever come across involved dances like the waltz and the tango, which are european and are based off of rhythms that are found in traditional western/european music, but NOT in traditional eastern music. And therefor you can't do those dances to the kind of music they have in the avatarveres (either by logical conjecture or by direct observation of the music in the show: Iroh's songs, etc.) Therefore, those refferences to those dances made no sense, which is what I was getting at, but I couldn't fit all of it in the box.

And while you are obviously observant enough to know that, you somehow missed the big, bold, italicized, underlined statement in my artist's comments which says that I already know that and that I did this a several months before they met.

I meant a particular kind of dancing. I don't contest that he might have learned Fire Nation dances of the sort seen in "The Headband" when he was young (even though dancing was banned by the time of that episode).
What I meant was western ballroom dancing, because I've read a surprising number of fics which involve waltzing or similar dances which are not indiginous to asian cultures and don't work with traditional asian style music (something to do with the tempo). That's why I put him in the top-hat and tails.

lol. I know there is; that's why it's funny. But in a good way though, not in a mean way. Most of the things I included in this piece are things that I like, especially phantom-, dancing-, and agni-Zuko.

Actually, Zuko did sort of meet with Toph before that episode. Toph ran off and met with Iroh when Zuko had run off too. It wasn't a direct confrontation and Zuko did not recognize her as part of the avatar group thus he did not notice her as anyone important when they all aimed at Azula at the end of the episode. He told them all to go away when Iroh was injured.
The only cliche argument that was wrong was that the two had not met. They met somewhat indirectly, but they did not communicate or see each other as enemies like the rest of the group.
Just a question, why does everyone complain about the Toph being 12 when no one in the Kataang seems to consider that Aang is 12 and Katara is much older? You should probably do a Katara is... too, it would be fun, if you pointed that out for some Kataangers.

If your question about Toph refers to ships like Toko (0r, I suppose, even Tokka) it's probably because there's a much bigger difference between 12 and 16+ than there is between 12 and 14+ (or between 14 and 16). 12 is still a preteen child, while 16 is almost an adult (100 years ago it was an adult, and by Water Tribe standards, at least, it's old enough to get married).
As for your other comment, I don't consider what happened in The Chase to count as them meeting. There are tons of random people at my school whom I recognize from having encountered them around campus or even had classes with, but just because I've encountered them doesn't mean that I've actually met any of them.

I suppose children and adults who have twelve year olds would view it as a big difference, but back then it was quite common for there to be five, six year differences (with the female being the younger most often) and sometimes even more. The difference in the show is a two years compared to a maximum of four years. I've known 13 year olds to date 18 year olds. It's not to say it's unrealistic, but that most people are afraid to break that child age boundary for a children's show, unless they like the pairing.
I think what counts as a meeting depends on personal opinion, because there are people, who've encountered others only once without acknowledgment or speaking as a meeting. "Oh yeah, I've met that person", but there are some others who probably have the person behind him/her everyday talking to each other and don't realize it as meeting that person. It's more of a recognition thing, somewhat like the person who catches your eye before the briefest moment, one considers it a meeting based on opinion and what you think of that person on first impression. You don't consider that they've met, but I do considering this is the first episode that Toph gets her first mention of Zuko through Katara, then Iroh (though not directly), then an inference through Katara again. This episode makes it a point that this episode is when Toph first hears and somewhat meets Zuko, though she is more concerned for Iroh.
