*BIG file*Here is the tutorial based on my previous work (I used it's PSD file for it). That's my own digital painting way and actualy a mix of different styles. The latest 14 works were made this way.
*I don't have Photoshop in english so I tried to translate all the options. I'm sorry if sometimes there is not prooper translation but I hope you will understand what I mean anyway

This piece is amazing, and thanks so much for making a tutorial about the process ;__; I'm a digital painting noob (usually do cellshading) and used the steps you described to help me finish this painting fav.me/d85imes the simple but useful techniques and layer setup really helped me to to regain some confidence that it would end up ok. so THANK YOUUU for the structure in what was a process full of #struggle ^_^

do you have any advice for bright environment (the shadow i mean). no matter what i do my character really stands out from the background
i would try this type of dark environment though

thank you so much for the tut, one little question, when you say that you use blend modes for shading and light, which colors do you use for that, i mean you use pure black for shading and pure white for lights?

No, never pure colors like that. The best is to use colors form the middle of the color pallette, not too much saturated ones. It's good if you use for light and shadow some color, it makes picture look more iteresting
