I keep getting the feeling the last two would be the worst to fight by far simply because of the intelligence and magical powers those two could offer Buu.

Well absorbing Piccolo did wonders for Buu in terms of strategic combat (until his temper made him lose control) and in speech. Absorbing these two may not make him a better fighter but with the array of magical abilities I think it compensates.

Pure Evil Boo's absorption of the Innocent Boo went uninterrupted in the main timeline because they were mostly alone. That won't be the case in Trunks' timeline.
