*** This is technically a re-posting of this illustration. I plan to do so with all of my Potter art work building up (hopefully) to having some new stuff to share there after. So if you feel like you've seen this before - you probably have. On the upside, I'm sharing it at a larger resolution and without the DeviantArt watermark on it now ***

Looking back I'm surprised how few drawings I did for this chapter for the simple fact that Hagrid is my favorite character of the series to illustrate. I can explain the reason away as the whole chapter takes place in one area and so most of the illustrations would have just ended up looking the same. But still....

Fun Fact: The drawing of Hagrid's giant hand handing Harry's Hogwarts letter to his tiny hand, didn't originally have the dark "back drop" behind it. I think the first time I shared this illustration it's not there. So it was one of the rare instances I went back in to make a "repair" as it were. I can't do that on my paintings - I spray them with a protective coating which makes additions VERY difficult. But the drawings I can... though I still try to leave them once I decide they are officially done. This instance was rare, but I'm glad I did it - it looks a lot better.
