*** This is technically a re-posting of this illustration. I plan to do so with all of my Potter art work building up (hopefully) to having some new stuff to share there after. So if you feel like you've seen this before - you probably have. On the upside, I'm sharing it at a larger resolution and without the DeviantArt watermark on it now ***

So apparently I found some serious inspiration in chapter 5. I think I did more illustrations for this chapter than any of the other chapters in the book. There are a couple "cheats" - I mean drawing a wand isn't exactly challenging, and Harry's Gringotts key, while cute, didn't take me hours to do. Also, rather than doing one drawing involving the goblins, I found myself doing a smattering of them. I did these drawings before the last book came out, so I didn't know Griphook would play an important role later when I drew him, but there he is for me to reference later. There are 2 vignettes I wasn't excited about drawing. The owl at the window I did because after finishing the others, I realized everything I did was in the later parts of the chapter, so I wanted to balance it out. And I didn't enjoy drawing pre-Voldemort-ed Quirelle as much as I thought I would.

Fun Fact: The image of Harry, Hagrid and Griphook in the Gringotts cart is based on a drawing J.K.Rowling did of that scene. Anytime I'm able to incorporate her drawings into my illustrations like this, I take it. There will be more later.
