Apart from his sister's mate, Ranger, Friendly had never particularly cared for the native blue foxes of White Deer Park. Perhaps it was because of all the grief they had caused his family in the past or the holier-than-thou light in which some of them still regarded themselves, even after Scarface's defeat, due to their rarer and supposedly more ancient fur color. He didn't despise them, but still he couldn't imagine ever taking one of them as his mate.

That is, until he met Her.

The vixen - who introduced herself to him as Russet - was everything Friendly could've ever longed for in a partner. Well, almost everything: she was poised, intelligent, well-groomed...and blue. Oh well, beggars can't be choosers. After swallowing his own pride and prejudice with startling swiftness and ease he was only too content to allow himself to be led like a faithful dog straight back to her earth.
