Description Further thoughts. This is a really random selection of stuff cause it's just what I like. If you think there's something I should add, TOTALLY tell me about it. That is the whole point of this thing- just sharing tricks!
I should be writing an essay right now.

p.s. sorry about the quality of art in this one. ummm...that's not the point?

Awesomel! Love the angle/direction control thingy.
Another option that I really like is the size/fade control, especially for drawing hair. The brush gets thinner after a specified amount of pixels, so it's really useful for things like a fringe, where you don't want the hair to become to long and you want the strands to get thinner at the end.

First thought: "Hey, I'm not the only one who did a study of that sargent girl!" I'm alays too lazy for brushes (Even if I know how it works), but I will try some of the things you mentioned.

OMG. Thank you. Seriously this information is DIFFICULT to find. This is so much good stuff! I can't WAIT to try this!

Do you have any recommendations on where to download a comprehensive collection of quality brushes, maybe ones you've made?

Babe, this is fantastic. I truly adore your "not-tutorials," simply because they ARE more like thoughtful explorations. I also appreciate that the idea behind them is, "Here's what I figured out, so this may save YOU time." I sort of feel that's what DA's supposed to be about: artists helping out other artists artistically. haha. GREAT piece here.

This is very helpful c: Thank you so much!

I find playing around with blending modes in Texture can be fun, linear burn and hard light being my favorites.

I couldn't, for the life of me, figure out how to work comfortably with color dynamics... thanks a lot for showing!

Holy crap, this is awesome. I'm fairly new to Photoshop and entirely self-taught, so I didn't know you could do half this stuff. You are so made of awesome!

"awesome random" ahaha that made my day

these realy help to remember there are more options around there than size and opacity!

ps: my PS tends to crash if I use scattering on a big file and/or with a big brush T____T does it happen to you?

I remember the first time I found out about tweaking brush options, and it completely changed my life. :]

This is great; definitely inspiring me to play around in photoshop a little it more. :]

Oh wow, this is a great little tute/tips submission. I don't experiment nearly enough with brushes, being very very bad at actual painting. I was critted just yesterday that I should use many more colours in all my block areas of colour, for more dynamic shadow, and I'm sitting there like "...... oh god HOW".
