But unfortunately only dreaming...

all it takes is training. you,d probably start out flying smaller planes for a commuter line,or for a lower-cost carrier. have you looked into the possibility of your country,s military,as a starting point?

Hm, it's very difficult to become a pilot here in Germany ... Even at German Airforce...
They only take the best of the best..
And the private way is too much expensive
Maybe it's a bit easier to become pilot in the USA, I don't know..

you might at least look at the BundesLuftwaffe, and see if you can qualify. gotta start somewhere, even if it,s as a groundcrewman.

gotta start somewhere....! but you do look like a very fit, strong young man,and your interest in aviation should help too. it might just be worth a try!

it,s a good place to start. BTW,is National Service{military} still mandatory in Germany? the USA did away with it back in 1973,but some countries still have some form of minimum service for young men.

Yes it is.
And that could be the problem...
I didn't want to go there.
So I told my doctor and he did things that I don't have to go there.
Unfortunately I noticed that I could go to military for the air force too late...
At this time I got extempted from military service ...
That's the only problem I see....
I don't think they would take me any more...
I regret it... really...

flightlevel-380 In reply to TomCatDriver [2008-03-19 12:13:59 +0000 UTC]
Yes...
I think only the private way will work ....
But for that I don't have the money (70,000 Euros or more...)
That's horrible...
Man, I so much regret it...
Really....
Hindsight is easier than foresight....

70,000????????????? for what? perhaps you should come to the US for at least your PPL,it,s nowhere near that much!

70,000 for the ATPL I think...
But who has that much money?
And then you got the ATPL and no one garantuees that an airline takes you as a pilot

I have actually fueled the 757. Wings are slow to fuel but that center-tank... damn does it act thirsty!
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
TomCatDriver In reply to Scud01us [2008-02-27 11:36:09 +0000 UTC]
wing tanks do accept fuel at a slower rate,to prevent possible overpressurization which could cause structural damage.

I still remember sitting there for up to a half-hour waiting for those puppies to load... one of the things I definitely liked about fueling Northwest birds... had a damn good excuse every time the crybaby in the shop yelled for help for a plane not even on the ground yet...

the best part is that I got fired from fueling for kicking this guy in the splits and now ex-coworkers of mine are REALLY wanting to repeat the performance... go fig.

OK,this pic was taken on the gate with systems already shut down. that explains the AI being "toppled",they spin around when the power is cut off.

overpowered, like a hot sports car! those Rolls-Royce RB-211 engines on ours could power a widebody just as easily. always good to have plenty of power reserve for any situation.
