TomCatDriver In reply to hanimal60 [2010-08-06 21:14:00 +0000 UTC]
OK. i did play a little game once using a Heller 1/125 747,and using only European-made materials{Heller and Humbrol paint, cement and bodyfiller} to build her...! the sandpaper was of German origin, and i even used French bottled water for wet-sanding and decals!

but many of those products do need a long amount of drying/curing time. Humbrol oil-based gloss paint takes forever! my personal preference is Tamiya,s TS-series lacquer, decanted from the spraycan and used through an airbrush. i also use a cement from Plastruct called Bondene{not sure if it,s available in the UK?}and Loctite Super Bonder for some applications, such as reinforcing fuselage and wing seams from the inside, and attaching some smaller parts.

i dont like oil paints.
not sure it is the only loctite i know of is an epoxy glue

TomCatDriver In reply to hanimal60 [2010-08-06 22:11:48 +0000 UTC]
i use oil-paints a little now and again, but i,m sold on the Tamiya lacquer for most applications. Loctite makes a range of many different products, the one i was referring to is a cyanoacrylate cement.
