they were OK for the timeframe....and the RAF still has a few!

i know about that programme....they were mostly ex-BA planes stripped down to Bare-Bones,and almost completely rebuilt! all-new fasteners,wiring harnesses,many structural members and skin panels replaced,re-engined with a more advanced RR RB-211,and other parts "zero-timed" as needed....for all intents&purposes,new machines,good-to-go for a looooong time yet!
