Description And now for something Completely Different (tm)*
*Not really different, but this duo deserves the Monty Python introduction

"Hollywood" Gold (Wonder Man + Booster Gold)

Michael Jon Williams was reluctantly drawn into running his father’s munitions business when his father died.  Michael had always wanted to be famous. His attempts at a movie career, you tube fame, and a tik tok following always seemed to attract those protestors who associated him with his father’s weapons business. So running that business was literally the last thing he wanted to do. However, he felt the familial obligation to do so, to prevent his mother and other family members from suffering the financial results of the business failing.  Unfortunately, he was wholly unqualified to run such a business (or any business) and when the company failed anyway, he blamed John Henry Stark and his rival business.  As Stark was a prominent financier for the Justice League Avengers, Michael was a prime target for Baron Luthor and the Masters of Doom.
Luthor charged Michael’s body with ionic energy, creating a powerhouse that was intended to infiltrate the JLA pretending to be friends… then tear them apart from the inside.  Michael did as he was bade, but when the time came to help destroy the team, he instead turned on the Masters of Doom. Michael Jon Williams simply didn’t have it in him to be the villain so many people believed he was because of his family.            Disappointed, Baron Luthor activated a failsafe causing the ionic energy that powered his agent to instead destroy him.  Michael Jon died, but did so a hero as he saved the Justice League Avengers from Baron Luthor’s plans.
Except… he didn’t die.  Michael Jon was in an ionic coma. One that lasted  hundreds of years.  Waking up in the 25th century, Michael Jon Williams discovered he had access to a completely new life, without the hindrance of his family name or family reputation.  However, not being particularly gifted at anything, but having his ionic super strength and durability, Michael got a job in construction.
Michael was given a companion robot named Skidget to help him acclimate to the future.  However, Michael never really acclimated to the future.  He stole several items from a museum including a time sphere with which he intended to return home.  He wanted to return to his own time and be a hero… and probably a movie star.
Returning to his time, his physical form changed by the ionic coma, he devised a new identity for himself. Calling himself “Hollywood” Gold, he arrived on the scene, saving the President of the United States and introducing his super hero persona to the world.
He was eventually confronted by the Justice League Avengers, and it didn’t take long for their master detective to deduce “Hollywood” Gold’s true identity. Coming clean, Michael begged forgiveness, claiming he only wanted to be a hero…and a movie star. And to be rich and famous.  The Avengers decided the best thing to do was to keep him close so they could watch him.  True to his word though, “Hollywood” Gold has been nothing but the consummate hero…though his acting career has been mostly as a stuntman, and (to Blue Beast’s absolute joy) as Mr. Muscles on the Uncle Oswald Show.

Blue Beast (Beast + Blue Beetle (Kord))

Henry “Hank” McKord was a brilliant young man, who became a bestial formed powerhouse when his mutant power manifested when he was in high school.  Suddenly stronger and faster and far more agile than his fellow students, Hank became a star on his football team.  However, as his power more completely instilled in him, his slightly stronger, slightly faster body became much stronger and much faster and it was obvious he should not be allowed to compete with other students his age.  It was at this time that he was discovered by Professor Maxwell Xavier who recruited him to his team of young meta-mutants, that he brazenly called the X-Titans.
As the Blue Beast, Hank was a stalwart member of the team for years.  But, upon graduating, he joined the Brand Corporation, which he did not realize was a shell company owned by Lexxon.   Uncovering massive industrial espionage and possibly treason, Hank became the Blue Beast once again, utilizing several new inventions he had been working on.  In his activities to uncover the treason, Hank was severely injured. He was discovered by Debbi Walker, former child tv star, who was married to security chief Robert “Buzz” Baxter.  Debbi hid him from her husband but made Hank promise her he’d help her become a heroine (He later did so when he helped her find Greer Minerva’s old Cat Sith costume).
Upon exposing his boss, Dr. Tess Maddicks for her crimes (and earning the enmity of Baron Luthor), Hank applied to the Justice League Avengers.  He was welcomed to the team and became fast friends with “Hollywood” Gold.  He was frequently seen as not serious and a joker, perhaps even a hindrance, especially when he and “Hollywood” became especially irreverant.
Blue Beast and “Hollywood” Gold eventually discovered that Gold’s children’s show boss was the Prankster, who attempted to reform… but simply was unable to give up on the idea that his new celebrity might be the perfect vehicle for an epic prank on the city of New York.
When he solved the issue of the rampaging Rocket Ronin with his brain, not his brawn, he realized he may be wasting his potential.  The brilliant McKord eventually left to form his own tech company, McKord Industries.
He and “Hollywood” remain close friends, even when his loyalties find him allied with the X-Titans over the JLA.

Meta-Backstory: the first amalgam that isn’t Skartaris focused in what seems like quite a long time. This one is obvious. The best bromance from the JLA amalgamed with the best bromance from the Avengers.  I already kind of burned the Wonder Man side of things with my Deathstroke/Grim Reaper amalgam… so this one isn’t from that reality.  It could very well be from the reality of Raven Maximoff… I haven’t built up that reality much. Or this could be a one off….  I don’t know yet.  But I knew that Booster/Beetle and Beast/Wonder Man would be a great amalgam even if it didn’t fit in what I had been doing for a while.  I hope you enjoy it.

Obviously, at some point, Blue Beast needs to become the blue furry beast we all know… but for this drawing, I really thought it would look good to have the more human-looking beast in Ted Kord’s costume. The blue furry beast I’m thinking might artistically be draw more from the scarab suit of Jamie Reyes… but… not yet.

Amalgams in this story:

Baron Luthor (Baron Zemo + Lex Luthor)
Masters of Doom (Masters of Evil + Legion of Doom)
John Henry Stark (John Henry Irons + Tony Stark… super hero name to come, I don’t want to do Steel-Man…but we’ll see)
Skidget (Skeets + Widget… implying there is more to Skeets than just an AI robot valet)
Uncle Oswald/ Oswald Wilkie (Uncle Elmer + Prankster)
Professor Maxwell Xavier (Maxwell Lord + Professor Charles Xavier… the implication here is that Blue Beast may eventually be killed by his former mentor… ooh…drama!)
Lexxon (LexCorp + Roxxon)
Dr. Tess Maddicks (Tess Mercer + Dr Maddicks)
Debbi Walker (Debbi Anderson + Deborah Domaine + Patsy Walker)
Greer Minerva (Greer Grant + Barbara Ann Minerva)
Cat Sith (Cat/Hellcat + Cheetah)
Rocket Ronin  (Red Rocket + Red Ronin)
