Description I warn you, this file is pretty big. But it took a fair while, so give it a look
Basically it just demonstrates, in not too much detail, how I get from A to B when drawing.
I probably forgot to add something. Some note or something. Point it out if it looks lacking

Had you got a reference? It looks quite much like a pose I know from some sports I do.

Ah well I did do that picture nearly 2 years ago, so I can't recall. I'm quite sure I didn't use a reference, though.

I did mention shading in there, theres not really much more to it than that. Other than practice and studying how light falls... there are lots of tutorials around that focus on shading in particular

kaibasgirl [2008-01-29 15:03:11 +0000 UTC]

omg, thank you so much for this! I really want to try out this coloring style, but I always found the smudge tool to be really hard to use. Any tips on how to use it, and not get all the colors mixed up with one another?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Totalrandomness In reply to kaibasgirl [2008-01-30 01:40:03 +0000 UTC]

if you do the process like I show, then each colour shade will be on a different layer and they won't smudge together. And make sure you don't have the 'all layers' checkbox selected, too

SkylaComics [2008-01-29 12:52:47 +0000 UTC]

OMG! Flipping the canvas horizontally... I never thought of that! Thnx for the tip!
I may try out your colouring technique too I don't tend to use opacity, but have been needing to try... Thnx heaps ^__^
