The best laid plans of Mice and Men ... really sucks when this sort of thing happens. I actually tried 3 export plugins and all work reasonable well. Well one is a little dodgy to be honest.3D Rad plugin - shape exported fine, texture mapping messed up.
Zbyl's X Exporter - shape exported fine, texture mapping messed up as above.
DirectX exporter plugin - shape fine, 10 times too large, also generated almost 1000 tex maps (one for each facet of the vase) ... probably should toss this plugin, you think?

Everyone that I know in my inner circle of creators swears by Blender. I say go for it.

Need to upgrade my PC first. Only reason why I haven't gone over to something like Blender already.
