This was a good Mosaic. The art and coloring are top notch. Particularly moving is the finger as it etches the name in the stone, I suppose that if the "J" just had a little upswing on the end, there wouldn't have been as much confusion as to what letter it represented.
Well done.

If anyone would befriend an alien species, out of all the Dinobots, it would definitely be Sludge. I really enjoyed this piece. The facial expressions, the gritty textures - everything comes together very nicely.

Yay Sludge! Or Sluj. Nice to see him pop up in one of these. And not as a complete dumbass either.

Has the internet really destroy our sense of deceny to the point where that reads "slut" to so many? Apparently so.

A beautiful mosaic! Great art and a nice if tragic moment for an under used character.
I read slut at first too. Might be worth an edit to tweak it a bit. Of course it also works as a good Rorschach Test too

Wow, intense. And the style of the art is perfect for the mood of the story.
I'd say the name is Sluj, thus explaining Sludge's choice of his own name.

No offense to your eyesight, people, but why the hell would a supposed "T" be rotated 45 degrees away from the other letters?!? No matter how hard I try, I simply cannot see the word "SLUT" here.
It's "SLUJ". Alien name. Proper noun. If it's hard to understand, it's my fault alone.
By the way, it sounds the same as "SLUDGE"
Ring any bells?
There are other things on that page beside that one letter, y'know....

have to say I had no trouble reading "Sluj" - I was only left wondering if you'd spelled it that way as her natural spelling or a play on Sludge's famed stupidity that he couldn't even spell "Sludge" correctly

Sorry for the outburst, but I'm a bit annoyed that everything gets overshadowed by one stupid carved letter. If it ruined everything forever for ya, it's my fault and mine alone, and don't let that topple the rest of this piece.
Kudos to Mr. J.Z. for writing an extremely intense and moving story, and to Ms. Boone for engaging my heavy (and generally un-colourable) inks and emerging as a winner most brilliant!
Peace

I still haven't seen that, btw....I presumed I'm not allowed to till the book is finished.

Hurrrmm... I'll have to check my hard drive.
A lot of stuff either got redistributed to flash drives or outright erased when I had my virus problems a while back. Any of the BWSC stuff will be safe somewhere - it's just a question of finding that 'somewhere' and pulling the file out.
Shaun's got it, in any case.
Incidentally, inks on BWSC are, a few minor details I need approval on notwithstanding, complete. I'll be colouring the last two pages and lettering the whole shebang after Auto Assembly.

In the very second panel he mentions that she's a native. Since the story is set on planet Klo it means she looked like a small pink goblin - the planet appeared in the old marvel comics once. [link]
And speaking of the comics... Sludge befriended reporter Joy Meadows in the UK G1 comics back in the day and nearly got her killed by the 'cons when she planned to go public with her proof that not all the giant robots were evil. This story no doubt homages that relationship.
The name on the headstone is Sluj - it could be her natural spelling or an indication of Sludge's stupidity that he can't even spell such a simple word as "sludge" correctly

Why? He befriends a person on a planet where he was, the same way that Bee befriended Spike.
She died, because she befriends giant machines at war, and was crushed.
It's a tragedy.

No one canonical, just a native that Sludge befriended during a mission to an alien world (which should be familiar to Marvel comics readers...)
