Tf-SeedsOfDeception In reply to Gusindor [2011-10-06 12:00:33 +0000 UTC]
Because in "City Of Steel" Optimus was recycled into an alligator.

I've never read "City of Steel," (and probably never will) so thanks for clearing that up! Wonder what it would be like to have a Prime who's alt mode was a 'gator...

It's actually a (pretty ugly) G1 cartoon episode
Wait, wasn't there an Alligator Megatron toy in Beast Wars?

Gusindor In reply to Tf-SeedsOfDeception [2011-10-09 01:11:49 +0000 UTC]
Yup, Mega was a gator. If Primal had been a gator, Beast Wars would have been... different. Primal would have eaten Megs. Yeah, that would've been awesome.

Gorgeous Art!
I must say, I can't remember what Crosswise Japanese name from Galaxy Force is anymore...

F**k Yeah! Crosswise!
I'm assuming he shares a body type with Jazz? Heavily modified, of course.
That Croc... From the G1 episode where Megs decides to steal New York City and cut Prime into pieces, right? It used OP's body and, well, scraps to make it originally. I guess Scrapper still had the parts left over
"Recycle! The possibilities are Endless!"
Great job, guys!

This is the reference model we gave to the artist: [link]
He's mostly a Smokescreen repaint but with a new head, rocket lauchers and a leg transformation like the one Jazz had.

Nice work there! Loving the design/drawing and coloration. And the story is great and has potential for expanding.

I love the art but I'm not sure what's going on in this one. Is this supposed to be how the Decepticon headmasters were created, or was it the Headmasters damaged and turned into something else, or am I barking up the wrong tree entirely?

TF-The-Lost-Seasons In reply to Blueshift2k5 [2011-09-27 02:32:21 +0000 UTC]
This is our version of how the three guys that will eventually become headmasters were created, they were already existing decepticons when we first saw them in "The Rebirth".

Gotcha. Why is Skullcruncher explicitly some sort of frankenstein collection of parts and the others not though? That was what confused me, I didn't quite understand why. I mean, he doesn't /look/ like a monsterous fused mass of parts, so I was thinking it was supposed to be something else.

A big inspiration for this story was this pic by [link]
He made this trio into robotic versions of the classic universal monsters, if we only had an analogue for the mummy...

No, it isn't. This is based on G1, not Cybertron.

TF-The-Lost-Seasons In reply to Stormrider19 [2011-09-28 16:28:14 +0000 UTC]
is right, this is a "what if" story, showing how a G1 version of Crosswise would have come to Earth in the old cartoon show. The mention of "Cybertron" in the last panel is a reference to planet Cybertron, but is always a nod to the Cybertron show.

ACdraw In reply to Stormrider19 [2011-09-28 13:26:11 +0000 UTC]
Again, no it isn't.
We already know how the Cybertron version of Crosswise came to Earth, and it was nothing like this.

In this version it is, because it's based on the american cartoon continuity, this is the origin of the characters that would eventually become headmasters in "The Rebirth".

So G1 Crosswise is influenced by Smokescreen with a touch of Jazz, huh? Nice touch.

TF-The-Lost-Seasons In reply to rds9674 [2011-09-27 13:24:25 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, since the Crosswise toy has repainted into Smokescreen and Jazz, I thought if it'd have been the other way around the Smokescreen mold would have been used in G1, with a tough of Jazz transformation scheme just to add variety to the already overused Fairlady mold. By the way, his color scheme is based on the 10th Anniversary gold/black edition of the car: [link]
