Description Of course, the majority of Goths are unique in their style and music preferences. However, within the subculture there are certain "types" of Goth with particular characteristics. And it can be fun to classify them. Naturally, classifications for each "type" vary from person to person, so you may disagree with what I say here!

Cyber fashion's really very cool, but tends to be too expensive I like some of the music though.

As with all my work, please DON'T steal this! If you want to use it for whatever purposes, email me and ask me first.

...cyber goths are hot.
the scene is really big in Toronto from what I can tell so I don't really follow in the other goths hating, but hey... Maybe that's just Canada

lol! good job!

i'm a cybergoth too and well YES I AM A GOTH i do wear black every time i don't wear neon pink =3= no offense please...

i am NOT a raver and i am as much goth as every classical goth!! not only because i have 'weird hair' but i think it is a question of ones view on the world also...
my friends who are black all over listen to the same music as i do.

and yes some people do seem to loathe me but don't show it. but there are more people who adore me and most people are happy to see someone who is as different as they are...
most younger goths don't mind us cybers wearing colors. the older ones seem to avoid us though...
my soul is as black as theirs :3 the only difference is there are pink pikachus printed on mine

Cyberpunk heavily influences electro-industrial, futurepop, etc. The movie Bladerunner, for example, is frequently alluded to both in songs and by artists. And the tone of many electro artists - Covenant, VNV, Interface, etc. - plays off those dystopian themes. Anime and manga influences things, too- Ghost in the Shell for example. I usually play sci-fi themed movies, tv shows, or anime when I DJ at the club here.

Rotersand's club hit Exterminate Annihilate Destroy uses a sample of a Dalek from Doctor Who as the central sample and building block of the wholes song.

The fashion is cool, but not everybody has the time, money, or patience for it. For guys the fashion is pretty relaxed, I barely 'dress up' at all. And frankly, if someone is all decked out rivethead/cyber, they better damn well know the music. Otherwise they are seriously going to get made fun of. Knowing the music > style.

I'm not a furry, I just play one on dA *rolls eyes* These are amusing!

Very cute. Though, I don't think all other goths hate us cybers. In fact, most goths do more than one genre. It all depends on the mood.

I would love to see you do steampunk.

Fuck yeah cyberpunk. *raises hand* It's not really classified as a "goth" per se, so much as a "punk" due to the original title, which was given by the author of the first ever cybernovel, who's name I cannot remember at the moment.

Yes, I am a cyberpunk myself, and that is why I am being such an overly-informational-bitch. XD Sorry. .__.;

Trellia In reply to sleepindarkness [2008-01-23 18:03:31 +0000 UTC]

I always felt cyberpunk and cybergoth were quite separate entities. Cyberpunk is more of a "genre" of literature and film, while Cybergoth is far more music and fashion orientated. Cyberpunk also tends to be more gritty and distopian, too. Almost like Industrial.

over here it seems that not many people are keen on the cyber side of things because majority of the cyber goths are extremely up yourself...eg: they like to pose to the extreme...their whole motto is 'im better than you' and they incourage vanity...put people as far down as possible to bring themselves up..thats my view anyways...

Well, there's more to come...

And anyway, as I said, I don't think you can actually categorise real people so smoothly as I've done here, everyone's their own unique blend (that's why they're stereotypes).
