Of course, the majority of Goths are unique in their style and music preferences. However, within the subculture there are certain "types" of Goth with particular characteristics. And it can be fun to classify them. Naturally, classifications for each "type" vary from person to person, so you may disagree with what I say here!Because my family runs a shop [link] that sells a lot of Celtic/Gothic jewellery, incense, candles and the like, we get a lot of Hippy Goth types in. And they are generally some of the nicest and most interesting people you'll ever meet.

i think hippie goths nowdays are more into Faun and The Moon and the Nightspirit music, that is neo-celtic-eurofolk as well as Omnia too!!!

Heey! This is my type I think. I'm not vegetarian or anything though. I think Dead Can Dance is probably be the biggest "Hippie Goth" band, really.
Hippie goths tend to have curlier hair though, and wear more orange/brown/lighter purples. If we're going with stereotypes, anyway.

Okay, I finally decided to comment on one of these. The way you describe each of these Goth "types" is very much educated, unlike most wanna-be teeny boppers I see of far too much these days.
I love the girl's clothes, and because of the Book of Shadows she's holding (even though I'm not Wiccan). ^^
