Description
First of all: Didnt model the shipThe model of this starship is by a guy i only know by his nick: "QuantumSS", so the credits for the *model* go to him!
Heh, this is again a render i did many many years ago in 3D Studio MAX. i think, its about 7-8 years old, perhaps even more...
Well, i downloaded the model and was sorta surprised, since it did not have ANY textures on it... all the details were modeled directly into the object itself ! (i think he used Caligari TrueSpace)...
But, heh, like i am, i decided to give it my own look and feel, and so reshaded it completely, built my own shaders for it...
Took me a while to get it right, haha! Then i posed it, lit the scene, added the stars and the lenseflare and all... uhm... did i say, i posed it...? Well... thats not correct... to be precise, this is a still frame of an animation i made with it, haha!
Now, i still like this image, a lot... but on the other hand, i would do SO MANY things different nowadays...
I would build BETTER shaders for it, and perhaps add textures and stuff. And when i look at this image nowadays... oh boy!
the glows are completely overdriven, and the lensflare is a bit over the top, too... really cliche, haha!

Yeah, but the fact that the model itself is from someone ELSE and i only reshaded and lit it IS a valid reason...

So. Lots of people do that. Put a link to the origional deviation so then That deviation and your will get more...publisity

Was only a 3D Wireframe model, all grey, that someone offered as a download on a 3D site. Thats what i used.

Well, "QuantumSS" was the nick of the guy that modeled the original wireframe of the model i used. Since i couldnt link back to him or such, i decided to at least put his name on this to give him credit...

It's pretty much like my style is now, a lot of lens flare and shadow. I kinda have to do it that way, though. I make most of my models myself and I have to hide their flaws

well, i am still into doing sciFi Stuff, but somehow, my 3D went different ways, haha...
Still lotsa SciFi there, but not so much space-ships-in-the-universe things.
And modeling flaws... now, i think, that just happens... and if you work on that, then soon you wont have to hide anymore flaws ^_^

I did it, say... 7- 8 years ago, haha...
but still:
The glow and the Flares are MASSIVELY overdone
