Description
The stone markers had grown further and further apart as they continued on their journey. It was the end of the second day, after making slow progress in the frigid spring air, that they came across the half-buried skull. Una pulled Bea to a stop, dismounting, and lowered the hood of her parka solemnly. The ivory of her walking stick seemed warm beneath her fur-lined gloves. She placed a hand against the skull, closing her eyes, as the dire female timidly approached, sensing the sorry coming from her master. The hush of the snowfall left them with a moment to examine the scene, as Una said a soft incantation to the spirits, wishing this long-departed behemoth safe passage. A part of her seemed to follow.

I love the idea of mammoths still existing, but being exceedingly rare in Tokota-Universe. I can easily imagine them being prey to dires especially, and seeing the dwindling numbers of mammoths, and dires, is a thing of great concern for Una especially. I was considering making this for the RoDs for Bea instead... but I have had it sitting around for so long...
