The sky began to change, the pale blue brusing purple, then burning pink as the sun slowly disappeared behind the snow kissed peaks. The summer afternoon air cooled, the scent of pine now fainter than before, when the sun had engulfed it.

"Last leg, Nina! Let's do this!" Ahnah whooped, and patted the female, picked up speed as they neared the end of their journey, as if she could somehow sense the ticking of the clock. Ahnah pulled her goggles over her eyes, as her hood flew back, exposing her hair, which flew out behind them, like a banner in the wind. She held on to the pommel tightly as Karenina navigated the steep face of the hill, her paws hitting precisely before quickly leaving the ground again.

Ahnah closed her eyes, sensing to tokota's movement. The undulating of her mount's back found a rhythm with her, and the two moved as one, Ahnah balancing to each side to assist Karenina's weight, trying to anticipate each step. Karenina kept her eyes forward, toward the end of the trail, just out of sight, but somehow she could still sense it there in front of her. When Ahnah finally opened them again, the world had turned, the setting sun painting the peaks and valleys in a familiar but each day unique way. Through the intensity of the movement and the serene landscape, Ahnah felt a sense of inner peace, finally understanding what exhilaration was achieved through moments like this. This was the bond she knew without needing to see.

Karenina and Ahnah are very tightly bound - as future images and stories will tell. I felt that the Partnership trait was most appropriate for them, even though I'm not sure I'll take advantage of their traits all that often!
