Description
EDIT: Now updated for PS Elements 7! This should clear up some confusion caused by different names/placement in the older versions.About:
In this tutorial you can keep your pencil lines and color under them, color within your parameters without worrying about "going out of the lines" and more. There are many ways to set up your art for paint or color, this is just one way.
I keep it bare-bones and as simple as possible. There really aren't any complicated procedures in here so hopefully it's easy to follow.
I used a tablet and one of the pressure-sensitive digital brushes (It's a brush that comes with Elements, not a special download).

I can't know whether you've figured this out for yourself yet or not, but, one PSE User to another: it's actually really simple to unlock your background layer (no need to duplicate!) Just go into Layer>New>Layer from Background, and click ok in the New Layer message box that pops up. Or, even easier, in the Layers drop menu, double click your background. A "New Layer" message box pops up. Press OK, and your layer is unlocked!
P.S. That's a lovely racoon girl you've used for the tute!

Yeah, I noticed that later (the double click background) and I was like d'oh! Also, my tablet pen is now set to automatically set the background layer to "Layer 0" if I click once (because it counts as a double click)

I figured it was pretty likely you'd discovered that on your own by now, but thought I'd mention it anyway, in case of any curious PSE newbs wondering. (if that makes sense?)

omg thanks so much! FINALLY a PS elements tutorial! ^__^ *favs* This has helped me figure out how to use those pesky layers that normal PS users seem to have such an easy time on. -_-
Oh, and question: Did you ink the picture by hand or on photoshop? (Cuz inking on elements is the only thing I /can't/ figure out. lol)

OOH thank you for this!! I have elements and was majorly confused because it seems to be very... lacking... I'll have to try the lineart thing out. Thanks.

Thank you so much! I had a hard time figuring out photoshop elements because there were no tutorials with elements so you saved me . Thank you again.
