Should I use for the sketch the colours black grey and white?

you said that you opeen one layer in blending mode normal. But when I open a new layer I dont know how I can get it in blending mode normal.
Can you help me?I use photoshop cs 4 and I have it since a few days so I dont know this programm XD

you can do both but I usually preffer diferent layers
