Description
Thought I seldom had more than one or two students, there were half a dozen forges in the old smithy. Three are visable here, and my second favorite anvil is on the left. The place was sooty and smelled of coal and dust and usually rain, but it was one of those hidden half abandond magical places.Related content

It was the best job I have ever had. What is more there was a shower at the ceramics studio next door, and the janitor would prop the door for me so I could get clean befor riding home. I never had more than two students, and most days I had a few tools to make, and the rest of the day to fool around with the fire.
One time they asked me to make a pair of copper tongs for the jewelry studio. I didn't yet know much about jewelry, and made a pair of tongs about the size of some of those in that picture of you. They laughed, but there was a hollowwaer student that year that used them a lot. Sometimes I will be in Eugene and see some tool being used that I made back then and get a little thrill. I wouldn't think I would remember some little punch or hammer that I made back in school, but I do.
Hope you are having fun.
