I apologize for the backlighting one. Thatβs apparently much harder to pull off DP style then I originally thoughtβ¦
Anywho, this should end it for line weight. Next up is traditional inking techniques!

THANK YOU. Between the last step of your first tutorial and the explanation of backlighting in this one, yours is the only inking tutorial I've found so far that talks at all about how to highlight big sections of colored or backlit stuff likeΒ this Β orΒ this , which is the part of inking I have the most trouble with. Any additional advice there?

^^ It's not as hard as it looks... it's mostly just working with shadows to make a character seem more imposing. Merging Darkness is the real toughie...

I ALWAYS end up messing up when I try to backlight my stuff. Even using digital media. I bet these would come in handy in the future!

I don't know, I never found it too difficult. I wouldn't say I've "mastered" it, but I don't have many problems with it.
