Description
I been noticing certain stamps about this. Example of one claiming it's "crazy" to do this maybe.
I'm sorry, but how?
What's so wrong with believing that maybe they could be there in spirituality, or so? Nobody actually knows this. If you call that crazy (for having some kind of 'faith' (is this the right word?)), then you might as well call someone "crazy" for believing in any forms of spirituality then maybe.
HOWEVER
We shouldn't be calling something it's self crazy unless that something it's self can cause problems. Real problems.
And with this, there can possibly be a problem.
Though, "wrong" shouldn't be used on something that doesn't involve hurting other people.
"Crazy" vs Not "Crazy"
Note: I quote "crazy" because it's more subjective, but it's a bit more understandable closer to people who has a more fair understandable reason.
"Crazy" - Example
A person who believes they are real and dating or marrying to the point that you go to restaurants, and ask "Two" (Even though there is 1 physically with the unknown of the other) and basically orders food for the 'other', etc. Controlling your life, etc.
NOT "Crazy" - Example
A person who believes they are real (often in the understandable sense of spirituality, multiverse, etc.), and whether or not he/she believes they are, goes to a restaurant, the person still asks for 'one', does not order food. Maybe "pretend" a little that this person is their, maybe believe a bit, and etc.
(EDIT 9/15/2015 I should of said "A person who believes they are real and are 'dating' or 'marrying' them. As you can do that too and still not be crazy. EDIT DONE)
Noticed the second example? It's harmless, it barely controls your life. It could 'effect' your life, but in a possible good way.
If something like this makes you happy, gives you more energy, etc. Then this is a healthy thing, as you know, what promotes health through mentality is personal to each individual.
If there are some problems you do run in, try to control it. You could make a mistake or two, but that would be like anything like for example: Going grocery shopping, but you got way too much stuff.
Encouraging Health
While it really depends.
A sane person who has a belief like that can use this for health.
Health example: If you are lost, have no one around you, you feel very alone, etc. You go crazy, then all of a sudden, you had that 'spiritual' belief of that maybe someone is there, and it's something from Star Wars. You try to engage into that belief, and what happens next? Calm comes, as you were about to lose it. But you don't anymore because of what you just did.
There is also people who are NOT attracted to humans, at all. And I believe this is one way to deal with that.
Oh interesting: Even though I have mixed opinions about that one subject, if you guys want to avoid 'bestiality' (real 100% non-human animals), then start promoting this 'dating' and 'marrying', idea, etc. to fictional characters. And that could actually prevent that further.
(EDIT 9/15/2015 - 9:46 Central - This is more about less human characters. EDIT DONE)
Other
---
Also no, JUST because an "official" person said this or that with a fictional character, doesn't mean the person can't use 'non-canon' beliefs, etc.
Even if the person said "they are just fiction, not real", doesn't mean the person in private can't believe that.
Scientifically, 'Copyright' owners cannot control spirituality, the multiverse, etc. And they don't have a right (or shouldn't) to monopolize someone in private. Period.
Besides, I don't think Copyright has anything to do with things like this.. Yet, Copyright is in fact a monopoly.
Also, I think Copyright was originality for money, and it had an expiration date.. and for a reason or more than two.
---
Anyway, it's not crazy to have this belief it's self. AND IT'S NOT WRONG. Morality should stay out of this. Unless it depends on how you express it, etc. Though telling people that it's "wrong".. IS wrong because it violates the Golden Rule.
While some people believe it's fine to like a character but not have any sense of it being real, or even want to, then what's the point of liking a character? If I had the believe (that actually doesn't know everything beyond, etc) of that, then it would feel useless.
-----
What about me? I won't give so much detail out, but I will admit, sometimes I do imagine that someone I like is there, etc. Maybe through the spiritual world, but it doesn't control me.
I don't do that whole limited thing with the whole restaurant example, I don't fucking complain about people making porn of "my" (Nobody owns it) favorite character, and etc.
And no: Popular belief is not fact.
Science, Experiences, Individual, Faith > Popular belief.
And also, for those who ARE in that kind of feeling, like involving people doing stuff to "your" character copy.
Consider this:
There is an infinite number of parallel universes out there, there are billions of copies of what you like.
Next time you see "your" character (Either your own OC, or a character from a show, etc.) being drawn in ways you don't like, realized it's not really "yours", but instead, it's another 'copy' from another universe.
Kinda fun to think about eh?
======
WARNING: I have stalkers on here. They may love subjects like these.
Please ignore what they say, they will depend on popularity, and promote unhealthy harm against the individual by mocking, humiliate, act bigoted against, and other cyberbullying/abusive stuff. (Either one or more too)
They don't respect opinions and Freedom of Speech at all, and doesn't believe in freedom.

As someone who sincerely wishes certain video game characters were real, this incident, though odd, made me strangely happy.

I remember hearing about stuff like that. xD
I think I made a stamp reaction to a video involving that though one time. It was more like a population argument too. Haha

Well...yeah, I got nothing. As a fan of cartoons, I think this is stretching it a bit.
I am not making fun of you, nor am I insulting you for your opinions.
While you and I don't agree on much, I did believe that characters I liked as a kid existed.
That was when I was a kid, and now that i'm an adult, I realize that it's not true.
I do think the characters I like are real in my dreams, not in reality.

It's fine to not believe in them personality I think, though I heard dreams could be other realities or something, and of course all the other theories, but you don't look like an attacker so far from me. xD

Prejudice:
"preconceived opinion that is not based on reason or actual experience."
It's their body. So I don't have a problem. If you do, then your an asshole.
"You're an idiot because I siad so anyway" "You will be disliked, therifor my argumenatz valiudz"
Otherwise, killing is telling people to not own guns.
--Edit: No, I'm not disgusting. It's their body. What IS disgusting, is you telling people how to fucking live.
And pretending your opinion is "fact" because you said so.
