what's the different between this and XPS 11.8?
    aside with that
does not include any extensions from XPS or from any other software?
in terms of practicalities or other things especially features?
I used XPS 11.8 to pose some models and some OBJ objects to be exported to keyshot since other posing studio is resource hogs for some low poly objects.
so basically all the renders works post worked with Keyshot and XPS do the stagging.
in the end what's the benefits using this XNALara 9.9 rather than XPS 11.8?
I'll download it anyway just for the curiosity but it will be nice if you can gives some overview.

Q: "What's the different between this and XPS 11.8 in terms of practicalities or other things especially features?"
    A:

    •  Redo command: the shortcuts are Ctrl+Y and NumPad6  (it only works for bone transforms)
    • Improved Undo command: the shortcuts are Ctrl+Z and NumPad5  (it now works for each selected item individual)
    •  Slide Show
    •  Help->Show Manual: Display a PDF Manual with the basics of creating a simple pose, to a detailed render image. Read more --> comments.deviantart.com/4/4074…
    • BUG fix: if you load a "background image" (texture), then the old XNALara or XPS version will not discard the memory for the old image. Over time, the program will crash with an out of memory exception. During the implementation of the slideshow feature, this BUG was noticed very quickly and is now fixed.

Like XPS, XNALara can also pose some models and load some OBJ objects and it can save the scene as .OBJ; so you can render your work in keyshot (insofar as the owner of the models allows this. The use of some models is only allowed in XNALara or only in XPS. read also comments.deviantart.com/1/7471… ).

    okay thanks for the information's.
and I'm actually using both sketch up and blender to made some objects and rig by myself some free figures from cadnav.
not really interested in some game rips to be put in my renders.

Just curious. If you use Blender, why you do need XNALara? Blender can pose the models more easy (IK) than XNALara, and Blender can also export OBJ objects to be imported in keyshot.
What is the advantage of XNALara over Blender for you?

    No. It’s a Windows 8.1 (10) dilemma.

Only too few Downloads. Click on "More Info" and choose "Run anyway"

Perhaps, you see a blue band across your screen saying, “Windows SmartScreen prevented an unrecognized app from starting. Running this app might put your PC at risk.”

SmartScreen shows "Unknown Publisher" even though signed correctly ...

How to Disable the SmartScreen Filter In Windows 8 or 10

Even if SmartScreen automatically blocks an unknown application you know is safe, you can click through the warning to run the application anyway.

There is already a good article which is written by Robin about your issue, see the following thread:

XnaFreak In reply to HarleySin [2018-06-12 05:16:49 +0000 UTC]

Don't worry to start the discussion again.

    It IS legal.

Relevant: Hi everyone, XNALara is a program that DusanPavlicek  has written to allow you all to play around with character models from TRU in realtime.

    Legal (allowed/permission granted):

    - Using this Lara Underworld picture IS legal.
    - Using the trademark "Lara" in "XNALara" Is legal.
    - Sharing for free the Lara Croft TRU (Tomb Raider: Underworld) characters, made available by Dusan, for XNALara (not for Blender, Keyshot, 3DS Max or any other Render app) IS legal.
    - Posing this characters in XNALara and
    - To show the final XNALara render images public by the XNALara users IS legal.
    ...

We have the permission document , given by the proper owner  Eidos, to do this!

    Ilegal (forbidden/unlicensed)

    - It is illegal (permitted to do) to "rip off" (undress/remove/unwraping/strip down) the clothes from this characters.
To re-open any sort of sexist debate when it comes to Tomb Raider would be pointless.
Eidos/Core Design takes legal actions against fan sites posting naked pics of Lara Croft.
Enter "Nude Raider" in google and follow also
"Playboy magazine is being threatened with legal action by the publisher of Tomb Raider over the latest issue of the magazine, which boasts ’Lara Croft’ naked. We’re concerned that they are going against our wishes not to run with the piece."
    - It isnt legal to use "Tomb Raider 2013" characters in XNALara. This game isnt owned by Eidos, so we woud need a new "Permission Document".
    - It isnt legal to use this characters in any other 3D app. The XNALara creator has never ask for this permission, and to use this assets for any other purpose IS NOT part off the permission document for using this models in XNALara .
    ...

As expected from it is all regulated and secured to be proper licensed.
And thank you for caring about the different Xps versions.

By the way is there a version that can handle more vertices than others?
I noticed model meshes start to bend and distort if it has too many vertices.

    👍: 0 ⏩: 1

XnaFreak In reply to HarleySin [2018-06-12 05:40:38 +0000 UTC]

    Right.

I do NOT caring about the different Xps versions. Just XNALara I need more time to translate my comment for this rude SpiritedAwayFT

The limits comes from DirectX 9c
65k faces and vertices at maximum per mesh (no limit per model; no limit per scene).
Not sure, I understood your question correctly
    .IF.
the meshes start to bend and distort if it has too many vertices,
    .THEN.
perhaps the topology (edge loops) is wrong. .OR. the mesh is assigned to too many bone indices .OR. memory space issue { BTW, implementing the slideshow, I found and fixed a memory leak (out of memory) related to "load background image" (texture) } .OR.  ...

-> Send me such a particular model and I will test (debug) it. <-

Yes that comment was very selfish and rude of him. I tried to be constructive with him.
But it is not worth to give long replies on such comments.

Oh it is per mesh. That is a very useful information to me.
    I posted the issue here:
    harleysin.deviantart.com/statu…

How can an edge loop be wrong?
I can send you the Rwby model which is displayed in the status post. If a nsfw (optional) model is not a problem for you. It is from Skuddbutt which means that port is legal by the way
But basically that was my question.

    OvO

Just some minutes before, I found your journal. Have donwloaded the Blender 2.7x  file   and right, the body has 200k (before triangulate)
Shoud be possible to write a "XPS import script", to split meshes with more than 64k

How can an edge loop be wrong?
Difficult to explain this in english.
Think of a door. The geometry is a rectangle. There is only one logical edge around the door to turn (open/close). If you triangulate the quad, then there are 2 possible solutions (topology). The mesh can now deform (bend) along this new edge (what is wrong for a door)
The same happens if you triangulate a "character" (soft body). You get twice of faces like before. If the "new" edge loop is not "smooth" (and not follow the muscles) like
    \
     \
      \
       \
then the body bends (deform) wrong (jagged) like
    \
     \
     /
     \

That would also mean that one or more vertics are in a different place than they should be, right?
    Nicely explained with the pictures^^

Anfrien (polished the model for Blender use) could help me for Rwby by sending me the originally lower version.
Now i can subdive and change the degree to get the closest result.

A script would be very awesome. I would even donate a small amount for that.

    script ready (untested)

    DL XpsImportExportScript

copy it as "XpsImportExportScript.cs" in XNALara_XPS\scripts
Run it with Commands->Run Import/Export script
It loads the high poly .mesh.ascii in XPS and convert it to the DirectX limits (split meshes seamless)  Do not forget to save the mesh as Xps.xps

No fun. No "XPS script" API found. No .mesh.ASCII Format specification found.

Do not alter the name. Just copy the old script away.
This weekend, I will optimize the script.

Then dont force it if you dont have other reasons that justify that effort
I thought that the script would affect the way models are loaded. Didnt know you have to run the script first.
I just renamed the original script to default. So i can keep it if i need it.

The script seems to work pretty good. The way it cuts the meshes is interesting for me.

    Thats what i suspected
I just didnt want to ask about since it would be a bit impolite to ask for that feature. Because it seems cool to have it cut it blocks or in a more sorted way, but not necessary.

    👍: 0 ⏩: 1

XnaFreak In reply to HarleySin [2018-06-16 14:07:04 +0000 UTC]

Is not impolite to ask. Feedback is important to a programmer.
I don't plan, with high priority, to cut the meshes in blocks . True, it seems cool to do it, but I prefer performance (to minimize the video card calls) over coolness.
If you load the "splitGeneric_Item.mesh" in Blender, then you can recognize that the tris are not weld together. That's the part I want to change.
