FIRST PLACE

Molly is debuting at Fourth Level - finally inching closer to the FEI levels! I'm really pleased with this, I'm definitely starting to have less trouble finding the right shade for her. I've gotten a lot less blatantly purple and I think it's helping... I'll end up adding the number for her when I get one.

As the sun rose in the sky, so did tensions in the barn. The staff had waited a very long time for the day that they’d return to the show ring under the Pennington Farms banner, but it seemed they’d also forgotten just how much work went into managing two horses with only two staff members. Ileana rushed around the barn, hurriedly tying her stock tie as she went. She needed to hire another working student, and fast, she thought. Now that the Pennington show string was back up and running, and growing even, it didn’t make sense to have so few people running it.
Somehow, Ileana and Laura managed to get Molly braided, tacked, and ready to mount in time to fit in a good warmup. As Ileana swung over the mare’s spotless back she made note of the competition around her, processing the general aim of her warmup with the temperamental mare and running through her test in her head. It was Molly’s first time showing at Fourth Level, and Ileana’s first time riding the new tests as they had been revised within the time that she withdrew from the show world, so it would be a new experience for both of them. She could only hope for consistency and an accurate test this point, regardless of style. That’s what training shows were for, right?
