Description
[link]My last eye painting tutorial is pretty old and I've been getting e-mails about adding more detail to it.
There's like, a billion eye painting tuts out there, but I just wrote one for Painter Magazine so I thought I'd post the steps.
No words! It's pretty self explanatory.
Done in Corel Painter X (using digital airbrush) with my trusty ol' Wacom Intuos2 tablet.
Same principles apply in Photoshop too.

Hello, ok im trying to start digital and this is by far one of the best tutorials ive seen. Still not sure on how u get the colors, but i wanted to ask.
I dont see a diff between 7-8 and 10-11
It be great if you had the words available. Or if you could just let me know so i could notice.

7-8 a small change in shading in the eyes near the top
9-10 details added to the flesh on the left of the eye

the difference in 10-11 is a shading difference on the upper eye lid at the outer right edge.

Hmm... I don't understand what's going on in step one? The 3 lines from the nose, are they for proportions or something?
Awesome tutorial, by the way.

they help with the proportion of the eyebrow to eye ratio, it's what makeup artists use

Awesome tutorial, but is it just me or are steps 7 and 8 exactly the same? e_@ It seems like you may have skipped something...

SelphSirv In reply to StarCasterGame [2009-10-13 05:50:53 +0000 UTC]
Hmmm.... 7 and 8 are quite different. However, I looked back up at it to determine which ones took me a minute. 9, 10 and 11 look exactly the same until you notice a shading difference in the left corner on 10, and at the top right edge of the eye in 11. Would those be the ones you meant?

StarCasterGame In reply to SelphSirv [2009-10-13 06:49:08 +0000 UTC]
No, they aren't. My comment was a long time ago when she first posted it, and 7 and 8 really were the same panel at the time. She updated it since then and fixed the problem.
