i got my hands on some wire which was suitable for wrapping, but had to use paperclips for the frames, lulz. a polished rock of unknown origin and type.

I used this tutorial to make this:

See the descriptions for more detail about what I used.

Btw, I'm a total beginner to wirework, and I was fine with this tutorial. You say that it's not for beginners, but I had no problem making my locket. Just to let you know.

augh, so sorry for the terribad slow reply, I've been barely keeping up with everything.

Well, I did say it was not for beginners, but that was more because the majority of beginners would not have sufficient "touch" with the wire, to mold it neatly - and thus I was worried that some might be discouraged if they tried and it wasn't very neat... which comes quite easily with practice.

Quite nicely done, I say. It's always nice making things for mom, isn't it? Anyway, I've been putting off a few lockets I had planned. (Putting off so much that I haven't even put them in my To Do reminder list... which all in, currently, is over 30 items long. Not all of them crafty projects, but actually tedious business-related work. @_@ )

It's fine.

Thanks! Yup! I can't wait to see them, once you get through with that business-related work!

Hmm, if you need supplies, I'm pretty sure my prices at my supplying store are quite low, and and shipping is pretty cheap: [link]

And, feel free to ask if you run into any problems.

unfortunately, this is the situation of parents not being okay with my craftiness. it takes up too much time, according to them. i have to make do with what i have. perhaps for my birthday, i'll get some wire.

Incidentally, I am working on a (hopefully) fairly comprehensive course on wire wrapped jewelry techniques - which will available either as a DVD, DVD with kits, or PDF.

I'm hoping to make the first volume available in my new etsy store in about a month from now.

I have the tools but I can't get a hold of any different sized wire.
could you tell me where you usually get your wire at?
