Can't order supplies to you, even?

Thanks! I don't know if I'll make another one. Will see.

I can order them but i don't know with ones.. I don't want to screw everything by ordering the wrong wires. I'm going to "stock exchange of rocks and minerals" to get some and ask about the wires, gems etc. and buy some

Really awsome. I have tryed wire wrapping in the past and they come out really bad. I prefer to solder and more of the forgeing aspects in jewelery making. Still your layout and how you explain are awsome.

Keep doing the tutorials. You have inspired me to do 1 or 2 myself.

Cool! And, thanks. I tried to make the layout as clear and pleasing as possible.

The problem I am going to have with making a tutorial is when I sloder the item I won't be able to have a pic of that. Very hard to get the photo. Other wise step by step, and explain it as well as I can.

Do you get into any soldering, fordging?

Nah, haven't done that. But I did use my tripod and camera timer when I was hammering!

HUGE thanks. I always wanted to have one, I'll try this out someday!

I was just so tired of the dime-a-dozen, low quality lockets that we in stores... I always wanted to get to the point where I could make one myself. Everyone should have lockets! That's why I'm sharing this, for a start.

This is a fantastic tutorial You show everything, and explain everything so well that I think even a newer wire artist could attempt this.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AMyriadVice In reply to Senrigan-Taki [2011-11-26 08:32:04 +0000 UTC]

Thank you so much! It makes me very glad to know that the 4-5 hours that went into assembling the tutorial (augh, >70 photos, kill me @_@ ) didn't go to waste.

I suppose you're right, actually - a newer wire artist Could attempt this, but I'd imagine certain steps would be quite frustrating for them.

It's very generous of you sharing this here. I'm not a wire wrapper usually, but your lockets are beautiful and I am tempted to try this!

AMyriadVice In reply to CatsWire [2011-11-26 07:43:21 +0000 UTC]

Thank you! heh, well, I succumbed to peer pressure, eventually, and decided to try making the tutorial. I'd thought it was going to turn out terrible and incomprehensible, actually.

CatsWire In reply to AMyriadVice [2011-11-26 07:56:03 +0000 UTC]

That's one reason I can't get around to making tutorials
I'll be sure to let you know if I make something

NelEilis In reply to ??? [2011-11-25 21:15:06 +0000 UTC]

That's absolutely awesome! I've never done anything with wire but I can tell that this would be easy to follow, well done !

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AMyriadVice In reply to NelEilis [2011-11-25 21:18:55 +0000 UTC]

Thank you so much! Oh, I suppose it's easy enough to Understand, at least... but experience handling wire, particularly with making cabochon pendants, really is quite essential before making this attempt, I think. Even I find it somewhat fiddly putting the cab into the locket! XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

NelEilis In reply to AMyriadVice [2011-11-25 21:27:12 +0000 UTC]

Haha! Yes I meant the tutorial is easy to follow and well put together, making one is a different story I can imagine it's not as easy as you make it look!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AMyriadVice In reply to NelEilis [2011-11-25 21:30:09 +0000 UTC]

hahaha! Thank you, that means a lot to me. I don't teach jewellery typically, but as a teacher in general, it's good to know I can explain things properly. XD

You rock! I'm a little scared but stoked. Think I'll copycat you first time out, then get more adventurous once I understand it better. Gotta figure what wires I have in the right variety of sizes!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AMyriadVice In reply to magpiesmiscellany [2011-11-25 20:27:21 +0000 UTC]

Hahaha. Hint, for the first try, i really recommend a medium sized cab. Doesn't take as long as a large, nor does as much detail go into them, and not as difficult to handle as a small cab.

Scary, eh? My tutorial is 66 steps long. XD We can talk gauges if you want, if you're skyping. I apparently, cannot sleep, in my lactose intolerant state.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

magpiesmiscellany In reply to AMyriadVice [2011-11-26 01:40:15 +0000 UTC]

I am so not awake enough to attempt it, long run at work, might be awhile. It's great that it gives me something to plot at work.

Of course it also made me realize that I don't actually really work in oval cabs!

At some point yeah, I'll bug you about gauges.

What happened? Did you just find out you're lactose intolerant?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AMyriadVice In reply to magpiesmiscellany [2011-11-26 01:44:41 +0000 UTC]

mm... I think this tutorial would work really well for rounds as well... if you use round cabs. XD

Alas, no, I've known for a while. It's only a slight intolerance however, and I can usually take SOME milk... but it seems I just had more than what I could take, although it really wasn't much. Possibly getting more intolerant.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

magpiesmiscellany In reply to AMyriadVice [2011-11-26 22:45:59 +0000 UTC]

Please take care of yourself!

(And the only cabs are freeforms, the rest of mine are odd shapes. Hee, an excuse to get more stones!!)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AMyriadVice In reply to magpiesmiscellany [2011-11-27 01:59:46 +0000 UTC]

I want to make lockets out of freeforms, too... or maybe teardrops?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

magpiesmiscellany In reply to AMyriadVice [2011-11-27 04:10:27 +0000 UTC]

I don't think I quite understand how to do this well enough to start on a freeform, but I bet a teardrop that opens at the top and hinges at the bottom would be beautiful. I found an irregular boulder opal (mostly boulder) I might give it a whirl with. No laughing at the results!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AMyriadVice In reply to magpiesmiscellany [2011-11-27 04:31:10 +0000 UTC]

Deal! I promise I won't laugh.

I have a teardrop or two that I've been thinking of trying... but currently engrossed in my Industrial-locket.
