I don't exactly remember how long it took to make the actual model, but I'm thinking couple days. Plus I always do a ton of research and sketches of various parts before making the model.

Both. Original rendering was done using multipass Depth of Field, but since that means the picture will be rendered a bunch of times according to the set sample amount, it would've taken forever to get it smooth. So I rendered it pretty rough and smoothed it out in photoshop.
