Description Stellar Annunciation * Cosmic Legacy

( SEE POETRY PICTURE [link] )

A brilliant burst of light announces the birth of a cosmic phenomenon deep within the womb of a spiral quasar galaxy, creating bi-polar beams, illuminating the shores of space like a celestial light house. A colossal Earth-like planet and its lunar siblings (in a stellar system within a companion satellite galaxy) are bathed in celestial light. Sentient life-forms on planets in both galaxies would assuredly associate such cosmic events with myth, lore, legend and prophecy. Ancient civilizations on planet Earth frequently attributed celestial phenomena with positive and negative interpretations of social, political and religious events. One particularly unique celestial event, The Star of Bethlehem, announced the birth of the prophesied Messiah, Jesus Christ. Magi or Wise Men (ancient scholars-priests-astrologers-astronomers) from "the east" associated the Old Testament Messianic prophecy, that a "Star" would come out of the tribe of Judah (Numbers 24:17), with this uniquely significant celestial phenomenon, the now Legendary Star of Bethlehem, and followed it to present royal gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh in adoration and worship of The New Born King of Kings, Jesus Christ. The Bible Gospels relate the birth, life, sacrificial death and the Victorious Resurrection of Jesus Christ who Saved, not only His People (The Jews) from their sins, but equally Saved His World and His entire Universe! With such a "Stellar Annunciation," Jesus Christ is truly God's "Cosmic Legacy."

*The Annunciation was the archangel Gabriel's visit to the Virgin Mary to announce that she had been chosen to be the mother of Jesus Christ. (Luke 1:26-38)

*Numbers 24:17: I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob (Judah) and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth . . .

Stellar Annunciation
©2009 by Michael C. Turner

A star does shine with Light Divine
across the portals of space and time.
Dispersing the darkness, dispelling the night,
illuminating the Cosmos with Love and Light.
Prophecies of old at last unfold,
God's Word made Flesh as was foretold.
Stellar Annunciation, Heaven's Angel's sing
Praises to Christ, The New Born King.
Star Of Bethlehem in a manger beaming,
Holy Dayspring of Eternity gleaming.

May The True Star Of Bethlehem, Jesus Christ,
Illuminate You This Christmas And Eternally . . .

Oh. Now THAT looks gorgeouse to say the very least. I can't really think of anything you need or even would want to improve on with this one. The layout is very nice and illuminations are so well done as always.

Love the asteroids, their cratered surfaces are just what we'd expect to see on them, and the bright blue surface of that planet looks like it would be a humid but very tropical-like world (as a huge Earth like planet probably would be with a denser heat-retaining atmosphere)

Greetings Matthew,

I appreciate and value your comments for I know you have informed opinions regarding space art. I did particularly make an extra effort to make the asteroids appear realistic. Yes, this is a "Super Earth-like planet." You have likely read about relatively numeorus such planets that have been recently detected using updated space and Earth-based imaging devices. Although such imaging can't possibly provide resolutions to determine just how "earth-like" these planets are, the findings are, nevertheless, most exciting. Given the astronomical possibilities of extra-solar/exoplanets, there are assuredly worlds with similar Earth-like environments. Perhaps some may be extreme for Earth-based life but not for those developing in such an environmnet. The possibilites are indeed myriad . . .

My best,

Michael C. Turner

Tell me about it I'm glad to know such planets have been discovered, and I hope they manage to get pictures of them in our lifetimes too, but then again we still havn't gotten any worthwhile photography of Pluto's surface yet so seeing these new Earths in high resolution is going to be a long shot

Greetings Matthew,

Yes, high resolution images of such planets would be wonderful however, as you noted, such images of some of the planets/moons in this solar system have yet to become a reality. Interestingly, there actually is no reason to account for the lack of the same given that the technology has existed for some time to provide such images. Just imagine the advances this planet could have made since the event of the space-age if just a fraction of the time and funds wasted on destruction had been applied to space exploration . . .
