What I'm working on now. Decided to post it cuz I figured it was a good reference for any of the 3d artists who watch me and need some examples of this sort of stuff...Anyways, this head is 100% quads (except for the eyes... but they don't count
I swear - there is not a single Tri on that head. NOT ONE! woo. lol...
It's not really that important to keep something quads... but I do it anyways when I don't have a poly limit. If you're tight on polys then tris are unavoidable.
Anyways - here's the types of loops I go for. maybe it'll be benefitial for something.

So... there are more people who avoid triangles at any cost?
I just think quads are nicer to look at when modelling, if I am to export it to a game engine I will probably triangulate it. (unless the engine triangulates stuff itself, which a lot of modern engines do)

mmm ...there some problems on your mesh , the way edge loop goes ...it form some trhee faces ,,,not to good for z brush . ill post a wire frame head soon , youl see what i mean ...but for game (without displacement map)...it could work just fine your mesh ....

Good line flow!
I actually like some tris if used right. It makes things look a bit more organic and can enhance certain details like folds and wrinkles.

i really like the way you model your characters very minimal wires but lookin too good. is this maya?
