The facility was finally back online, wormhole activity had in recent weeks been surveyed through portable computers and other equipment, the barest of bones essentials available to continue observing the ongoing anomalies. Soon after reestablishing the facilities connections, contact was made, not with beings from ultra-space, but an anonymous source from within the Aether Foundation. The contact supplied our researchers with, video, audio, and documentation. Files containing the documents of the Late Professor Mohn, who’s research gave birth to the entire field of ultra-space studies and survey. Following his disappearance and presumed death, his wife, Lusamine had taken on the role of President of his organization; the Aether Foundation, a group with the goal of preserving and protecting both Pokémon and the environment. The documentation provided goes into detail on internal struggles as Lusamine, a woman in mourning, had been becoming less and less anchored to reality, obsessively forwarding research on Ultra Space ahead of the foundation's main directive of environmental protection.

Many files related to Ultra Space research were released to our organization including Aether’s Alola Branch Chief, a man by the name of Faba, and his highly unethical research on Project RKS the “Beast Killer,” a biological weapon created specifically to hunt Ultra Beasts. However, the focus of this report is the events leading up to Lusamine’s Hospitalization. Security recordings showed meetings between President Lusamine and Faba, together it would seem they reactivated a prototype of Professor Mohn’s ultra-space transporter in early attempts to reach her lost husband, while these attempts were unsuccessful, they appear to have found something else, Nihilego. In her already fragile state Lusamine is reported to have had a violent encounter with the ultra-beast [see UB Report: Nihilego for information on UB-01's abilities], this incident appears to have been kept internal until now. Lusamine soon after developed an unhealthy obsession with the creature, as though it was her own child. Lusamine began neglecting both of her own children becoming distant and short tempered with both. Her actions caused her oldest to run away at which point she began dressing her youngest, Lillie, in a manner that resembled UB-01.

Lusamine only continued to become further unhinged, cryogenically freezing Pokémon to “protect” them and striking some form of bargain with Alola’s resident gang of hooligans to perform “off the book tasks” at her orders. Her madness eventually led her to vanish through a Wormhole, taking up residence in the “Ultra Deep Sea” with the Nihilego she had become bonded with. An individual within the Aether Foundation with a high enough clearance level had authorized the launching of a Rotom-drone to follow Lusamine and observe her until they had the means to retrieve and treat her condition. Video footage from the drone shows Lusamine’s breakdown reaching is peak, hey body clearly effected by her lack of food, and exposure to the toxin Nihilego produces. Dark purple lesions and bruises appeared on her arms and legs over time and her unkempt hair stained black by excretions of Nihilego. Her condition only continued to worsen until Lillie alongside another trainer arrived in search of her, appearing on the back of an unidentified Pokémon, however Lusamine had reached a previously unseen stage of Nihilego’s influence.

The Nihilego which she had been tending too had developed into a large, blackened form, likely developed the darkened, oily inner coat to protect its internal structures from harmful ultraviolet radiation. Radiant bioluminescent organs had developed within its body, resting just below a transparent membrane made of silica which coated the entirety of the creature’s body. Black bubble-like organs floating within the glassy structure of its tendrils appear to be poison glands which connected to the stinger tipping each of the ends. The creature engulfed Lusamine, binding her arms and upper body within itself to hold her in place, however, in Lusamines deranged state she appeared numb to what was likely a quick and painful process. The creature, this Mother Beast, proceeded to pluck the Ultra Balls from Lusamine’s person, utilizing the Pokémon as any trainer would, rather than defending itself as a beast. The Pokémon contained within appeared to be in poor condition, likely exposed to Nihilego as well, exhibiting signs of exhaustion and toxic shock. While it defended itself with Lusamine’s Pokémon, the Nihilego attempted to swarm the trainers to protect the Mother Beast however the large Pokémon which the trainers had arrived on was more than able to stave-off the swarming UBs. It is during this time that a pallid, translucent tentacle wrapped around the lens of the drone, struggling briefly before going offline.

Sometime later Lusamine was admitted to a hospital in Kanto, she was in critical condition and will likely remain there for some time undergoing rehabilitation. While her condition appears to be improving, the toxins of the silicon-based lifeform will likely leave lasting damage, as our own carbon-based biology is ill-equipped to handle such prolonged exposure. Those among us who have viewed this information fear that the Aether Foundation forcing open ultra-wormholes may have led to these anomalies to begin with, and theorize they may still be ongoing at the rate which they are increasing.

Investigation into the Aether Foundation by a specialist may be required.

I held a poll on my twitter for the next UB report, Blacephalon, Celesteela, Cosmog / Cosmoem, and THE MYSTERY BOX!... guess which one won? I wasn't sure about doing Mother Beast since its not a proper UB, but since the mystery box won, I added one more to the series than there probably would have been originally.
