Description [DOWNLOAD or FULLVIEW for best results!]

As requested by *drakl0r , learn how to attach a head to a different body in XPS! I kept the descriptions in this tutorial short and to the point since I've been over most of this stuff in previous tutorials. It really is the same basic process each time. ^^ Also, if you have any questions or issues, feel free to ask, and I'll try to help if I can.

Oh, uhm.. I have a question. I tried to mod using XPS and I had no problems attaching the head in my first try. But I noticed that, sometimes, items disappear from the screen after I parent two parts O_o
For example, I tried to make another try with another head and after I combined the two meshes and loaded the fullbody in XPS, boom.. the head was gone. Bones were there but not the mesh.. like.. it was invisible. I searched all around the screen but...nothing.
Same happened for a pair of elf ears I wanted to attach. I guessed I had to parent them to the head.. but again, after I combined the meshes and loaded the new model, no ears. Do you know what's the problem?

Disappearing meshes mean they're not attaching for some reason, so you're either attaching the models via the wrong bone or the process is reversed. Be sure to keep the base model in mind at all time. Also make sure you're preparing the models for meshmodding properly , otherwise, they won't attach at all.

Uhm.. I followed your tutorials. I usually use a body and a head. I remove the head from the body and export the model again in generic_item, then load it again in xps. Same for the head. I use only cordinates. I attach the head to the neck upper bone (and in the first try it worked), then save, close, open again and load the combined meshes. For the ears, I attached them to the head... don't know if there is a specific bone and I set it wrong...
The bones are attached, they are visible in the control panel and even in the screen, but the mesh itself looks invisible.

Then I don't know what to tell you. It sounds like you're doing everything right, so these's either a problem with the original models or somewhere you are making a mistake... The only other thing that might cause this is corrupt textures, but they would make the mesh black, not invisible.

Yeah, when I see black parts I know that somehow the texture is missing or else.. but in this case I see that bones are there but not the mesh :\ and it seems it's not even attached somewhere else... buh, I guess it's because of corrupted mesh then.. unless I'm making a mistake but I don't really know what..oh well. Thanks.

Thanks!

I'll try this later, and hopefully I can make some nice mesh-mods that I wanted to do for so long

Welcome. :] Yeah, hopefully... You're already so good at recoloring textures, so now, who knows what you'll come up with? ^^

It's a bit complicated at first, but now I'm starting to get a hang with the mesh-modding process, haven't changed the textures yet ^^

It's so frustrating at first when an error in just one bone caused me to start all over again xD

haha Yeah, that happens. You've to be so careful sometimes. He looks great so far, love the boots. Another Nate, maybe? :]

Hey, I've just about got all my versions of Elena done (gotta work on her UC2 winter outfit) that I plan to make, then I'm going to start on Marlowe, so feel free to complete the set with a full-fledged Nate and Sully. ^^

Maybe...Actually I'm not too fond of the pants but it's attached together with the torso xD

It's the Forgotten Sands Prince's head, and he looks a bit gloomy there, probably I should just stick with Alex's head.

I see...do you have any idea which model could work as Sully?

Oh, yeah, that sucks. :/ Only way to separate items that are on the same mesh is in Blender, I believe. :[

haha Probably. Alex's head works for everything.

Sadly, no. :/ I'm still on the look for a decent male model for both Sully and Nate. It's gonna be hard to find a guy with a shirt-sleeved shirt and a collar.

Here's what it looks like so far, ignore the stupid-looking hair texture

Haha I'm hopeless with Blender, I can only make lightmaps and delete meshes that aren't glued together xD

I think if RE5 Barry Burton texture is edited he'll make a decent Sully haha [link] I was thinking about Dante at first, but he looks too young.

And probably the body from Crofty's mod here [link] I'll have a go at it later today

Oh! I totally forgot about the Alex Shirt model... oh, yeah, that body and Barry's head will work great for Sully! The preview image looks great so far. Ditch the beard and thicken the 'stach. And depending on which UC version you're making, you might need to add a bit of a design to the shirt as well. But he seriously looks good s far. :]

Could you do one of these for XnaLara?

You can't MeshMod using XNALara. If you see this done, it's Photoshop magic instead.
