Question? Does UDK have a very light power for spec maps? Because you have increased the power of the spec map to 0 to 10. Does that also apply to other maps in UDK too?

That's quite a nice material.
But I think in UDK, it's more efficient to create an extremely complex master material, and instance that.
Not to distract from this tutorial, but [link] is an awesome tutorial on creating a master material.

Yeah, that's how I usually do it, but the goal of this tutorial was to create a really, really basic material.

Nice work! I think the spec map is too regular with too much white so all the brick is equally shiney? Good tutorial thanks

Overall the tutorial is good
I have one critique though.. You're missing shortcuts. Like for TextureSample you hold "T" and Left-click. I always use shortcuts and I think all kind of tutorials should cover at least the most used ones

I was thinking about teaching shortcuts, but decided not to, since I wanted people to get to know the expression list.
