Description
I promised I would make a tutorial. I'm horrible at explaining things, so I think I ended up over compensating and explaining too much, if that makes since. God I'm so afraid this thing won't make any sense to anyone but me. Oh well, what's done is done. I hope this helps everyone who wants to know how I do my line art. Comment here if you have questions/comments/concernsFull view to see the tutorial. It's a huge picture, so beware!

US dollars. I'm looking here [link] at the current price for Adobe Photoshop CS4, which is the latest version. I assume older versions would be cheaper if you can find them. I have photoshop 7

Thanks for the tutorial! I used it for photoshop CS4. The only part I'm slightly confused about it step 10. If we click that circular thingy does that mean all the lines which are the specific brush side used are darkened? if that made any sense lol But anyways good tutorial

Thank you for this tutorial. I find the pen tool severely annoying, but this looks to be an easy to understand tutorial on how to properly use it.

I find the lines looking better when you don't use the stimulate pressure. Though, it's only my opinion.
Nice tut, though.

Hi begger... this is a great tutorial. For a long time I used PS to line as well. I use SAI now but my affinity for PS-lining has never gone away. This is, in fact, exactly how I used to do it.
I can solve your problem with not being able to find a specific line amongst many. If you click the 'move' tool, the one with the four-way arrow and the little triangle... it's the button on the utmost row, top right, of the toolbar.
You *right* click on the line itself and it should show you what layer it is. If it's on top of a bunch of layers though, it'll show you all those layers. So you might want to hide as many layers as you can.
Just a trick I use!

Jewl-Star In reply to tommiboy13 [2010-03-07 03:51:16 +0000 UTC]
I'm not sure what program your using if you don't require a tablet for pen pressure. Pen pressure is activated by sensors in the tablet and the pen, there is no way you can use pen pressure without a tablet - that doesn't mean that there isn't some other way of mimicking pen pressure or thinning out lines.

tommiboy13 In reply to Jewl-Star [2010-03-07 18:31:52 +0000 UTC]
but theres the check box for 'stimulate pressure' for the work path and it should work whether or not i have a tablet with pen pressure.

Yeah, that's the tablet pressure button you're working with then. It won't work unless you attach the tablet.
