Lori diligently practiced gymnastics and attended class every Wednesday. Six months ago, she had been Larry who was the worst student in gym class, especially at gymnastics. Then she received a magic leotard which changed him into Lori and gave her amazing gymnastics skills. Not wanting to rely solely on the ability given to her, Lori continued to train and improved even further.

At the start of the new school year, Lori planned to try out for cheerleading. With her given gymnastics ability combined with the sense of rhythm she always had, she did not think she would have any problem getting on the squad. This did not mean she would not need to practice. During the summer, she purchased some cheerleading videos and did her best to copy their routines. Although she eventually managed it, she noticed her gymnastics ability was somewhat off when used for cheerleading.

When Lori told her gymnastics teacher about this, she explained the magic given to her was intended for gymnastics. If she wanted to do something like cheerleading or stunt work, she would have to depend on her own ability. Before Lori asked, her teacher added no magic pom-poms or anything like that would be given to her. They were intended for someone else.

With a nod of understanding, Lori estimated her chances at about 50 percent. She had indeed improved at gymnastics and the cheerleading videos had given her some basic knowledge of cheerleading. Even so, she knew most of the other girls had a huge head start and she would spend the last few months catching up. She would need something to tip the odds in her favor.

Lori practiced with some of the other girls in her class. They would be competing with each other but they would also benefit from their mutual cooperation. This also helped her overcome her natural shyness which the leotard did not change. Lori was amazed by how far she had come.

The new year came and Lori went to cheerleading auditions just like she said she would do. She did her best to do what they told her to do. It was exhausting but she was satisfied she had done her best. A few days later, the results were posted. Lori covered her eyes with her hands as she approached the list. It was as if she did not want to know, but she did. Slowly she uncovered her eyes and took a look. Lori made the team! She had become a gymnast and cheerleader.
