I'd LOVE to have seen such a team up, too! Β Not all Rom's stories were published in Brazil and the Micronauts have had only their twelve first stories launched here. Β Twelve! Β I've got their complete first series at the E-bay, but I still wish I could have read them in Portuguese when I was a teenager!

i hear ya but get ready for this. a ROM/Micronauts cross over would have been in violation with the toy licensing agreement that Marvel had with both Mego as well as Parker Bros.
an informed commentator on my ROM blog was kind enough to inform me after i first posted this art work. just think of it, the cover done by Mike Golden and the interior art by Sal Buscema along with Akin & Garvey inks. written by Bill Mantlo of course, what a classic that would have been!

last month i was able to contact Dan Abnett on facebook book about a ROM com back. he responded but i suspect my suggestion fell on deaf ears. ti's all at the ROM blog in one of the most recent postings.

Word on the street is ROM can't be brought back or made into a toy again due to the liscence-holder. I think that is Bing McCoy,(?) or Hasbro, which bought out Parker Bros. years ago. Have you seen Bing McCoy's website? He has vintage ROM stuff up but doesn't talk much about it otherwise.

yeah i know all this. but as described in the posting i referred you to on the ROM blog there's ways to get around the licensing issue. Marvel could do it if it mattered enough to them.

Marvel is having such success with their other characters. I guess there's no one left that remembers how good ROM was. The comic would be perfect for the big screen.

Hey I was messaging a Marvel inker on FB, (whose name I won't post here), about some of the odd inkers who turned up in the `80's. He didn't know much about Akin & Garvey who inked ROM for a while but said at the time Marvel was desperate for inkers. He also told me that inker, Danny Bulanadi, who ruined a lot of Micronauts issues was Phillipino, lived overseas and worked real cheap.

All it would take is for someone to get some covers where he uses his Neutralizer and animate the red ray and have some wraiths vaporize like a Star Trek Phaser hit. Or take the one where Firefall is dead and animate the fire on the arm from Firefall's armor and light reflections off ROM and the Dire Wraith lady. For the Micronauts issue #22 might be cool where the truck is closing in behind the Endeavor.
