Description
because the world needs another Eye tutorialsomebody asked...nyeah. Not sure what animal it is, most likely a wolf..it looks wolfish but I want really going for any certain shape..I just drew something real fast.
Mainly photoshop, som OC in here. Full view recommended of course unless you have a slow computer because it might just freeze^^ yay for 1000something x 3000something pixels!
possibly my last deviation for a while. I start school tomorrow and it shall kill me ; ;
so now you know what my eyes look like upclose..sorda. See! not so impressive and not so original XP
my little space filler doodles were random because I felt those spots looked empty and then ran out of doodle ideas to put in the others O_O
ignore all mispellings in this deviation if there are any XD the picture was to huge and I didnt want to read over all my text I just wrote. yeah yeah, Im a lazy person..so sue me.
if yall want more OC fur stuff, I have a OC fur tutorial [link] [link]
I have none for photoshop, but its not all that original either =/ there are other tutorials on the web^^

This is an awesome tutorial!! I have a question though, what dpi resolution do you use to colour pictures in??? like, do you colour pictures in 271 dpi then shrink it down to an appropiate size like 71, or do you shrink it then colour it??????????

daisy7 In reply to Natures-Fury [2006-06-11 22:25:02 +0000 UTC]
I dont know if your talking about scanning or just in general.
All my programs like OC and PS are automatically set to 300 dpi (which is the extremely high quality and I think the highest it can go in PS). You can change the resolution...but that doesnt really shrink the picture, it just makes the quality bad. You can lower quality, you however cannot increase quality. If you start out at 72 dpi then you cant change it to 300...I probably should lower the resolution when Im done with it, that'd definately help if people try to make prints off of it ><
and no! you should never shrink then color. Really your picture should only come out large if your scanning something in..which is why Im confused. I dont scan, I like drawing from scratch on the computer. And if anything you should make your picture larger than color (or if scanned then it'll be large enough depending on the dpi you scanned it in). I normally doodle small..maybe its about 600x400 pixels...then I go into like "image size" in photoshop and add like a 2 or 3 infront of those numbers..so Ill now have a picture thats like 3600x3400 pixels....or however that would come out.
Making a picture larger lets you color in all those details and makes the picture large enough to make high quality prints.

thank you sooo much. lol i've been doing this wrong
... but when you submit your pic, wont it be really really big if you "zoom in" at 300 dpi.... or will it not because dpi doesnt effect the size of the pic??

daisy7 In reply to Natures-Fury [2006-06-12 01:15:13 +0000 UTC]
dpi= dots per inch (or the resolution)..thats how many dots are printed per inch in your picture. The more dots there are, the higher the quality. Its really only for when you are printing things..because of how the printer prints. If you go and look at like a cheap poster that you have in your room and get up real close to it, you can see all of these tiny little dots that make up the color and designs. The more dots you have, they are more compact and make a better looking picture.
If you scan something in at 300dpi, yes your picture will look big when you zoom in all the way. Thats why before posting something on the internet you want to scale down the size of your image..thats not changing the dpi (resolution) of the image..thats just changing the dimensions of it.
All of my pictures in my gallery, their original sizes are 2400x3000 pixels or larger. To post them on the internet I shrink them to a much more convenient size which is around 700 x900 or so pixels. The resolution hasnt changed..just the dimensions. I always keep the original sized files though for making prints.

in other words...anything really having to do with dpi is usually for printmaking =B its not necessarily important otherwise.
