Waaagh! I just got into 'Runaways'! It's awesome! It's a Marvel comic about a group of teens who discover their parents are supervillains and decide to try to stop them. The characters in it are really fantastic, and the plot and artwork are great too.Karolina, the psychadellic vegan lesbian alien is probably my favourite character. At first I thought she was just a dull, preppy cheerleader type, but she really starts to show a lot of depth as a character. Plus she has the coolest ability. Who wouldn't want to be a photosynthesising alien who glows psycadellic colours, can fly and shoot energy beams? That's just cool!
So yeah, I did Karolina fanart....Ok, not just because she's possibly my fave, but because I really wanted to try to draw that crazy glowy effect.

Thankyouuu! Yes, she looks even more tie-dye in the earlier Runaways comics, then they changed the colourist and she went more kind of sparkly. I sort of went for an inbetween Karolina look.

Thanks! The glowy was pretty hard to get, it involved lots of use of layer transparencies, the multiply brush mode, and the blur tool. Still not as cool as how she looks in the actual comics *sigh*.
