Description So, a bit of a funny story here.

A week or so ago, someone uploaded the line art for this to 4Chan and I just fell in love with it. In my spare time, I began to doodle away at some colours for it just because I wanted to see what it would look like that way. Before long, I realized I had put several hours of work into it, and that I might actually like to show it to people.

There was, however, a problem. It had been posted with no source, and I had no idea who did the original drawing. I'd like to be able to get their permission/blessing/whatever, but I've had no luck in finding out where it comes from.

So, I figure I'd put it out there and see if anyone can tell me if they know who did the line art so I can talk to them!

---------

Edit!

Original line art can be found here: [link]

Used (retroactively!) with permission of the original artist, whose other works are also well worth checking out.

Edit again!

Here's a full-colour version, as per one request: [link]

Somewhat ironically, I'm actually playing Equius in a roleplaying game and a friend of mine is playing Aradia, and we find our characters in a very similar situation just at the moment, with her leading him off to explore this sort of mad fantasy world. So in a manner of speaking, we're well on our way to doing as you suggest!

Thanks. I do take a certain pride in it. Interestingly enough, I wound up doing with this piece something that I wind up doing a lot, which is spending hours and hours colouring it in a specific manner (in this case colouring them with true-to-comic colours, along with brown leather, etc), and then, once I'm done and getting a little bit restless, I just start fucking around with different effects and such. In this case, that included giving the two of them this red-to-blue gradient overlay, and as so often happens, I found that I liked the effect so much that I wound up keeping it that way for display purposes.

I may also post the original-colour version as well. I'm not sure yet.

Sorry for the late reply :<

You should post the version with the original colors, since I'd love to see the palette detail that went into this work. Also, the artist behind the lineart itself is amazing, isn't he?

I also experiment with the gradients, but mostly fail. :T

Yeah, absolutely amazing.

I think I'll put it up tomorrow. I've got a HUGE pile of stuff I plan on uploading then, including a coloured version of his Equius/Nepeta line art he gave me permission to colour and which I've been working on for the past three days now and which I'm pretty proud of.

Now I need to write a comment on it too. Because hot damn, I love your coloring technique ._.

Incidentally, if you haven't done so, check out the Equius & Nepeta piece I just added to my gallery, too. I'm really proud of that one.

Well, I'll tell you, I'm just happy to know I've still got it! In the past couple of years, my artistic output has dropped TERRIBLY. I'm really glad to know my skills haven't faded with time.

Well now I feel compelled to start creating things on a regular basis!

Or at least upload old good stuff on a similar basis. I suppose we'll find out!
