Another day, another monster-a-day. Two for two, which strikes me as a pretty good record to have on the second day of doing something on a daily basis.

I wanted to come up with something a little more challenging, and the idea of doing a creature which is entirely black in a pitch-black environment seemed to fit. This volcanic bear/cat thing was a bit more tricky than yesterday's offering, to be sure. I think that, with the exception of a couple of little items here and there that maybe could have turned out better, not a bad night's work. My biggest regrets are that I didn't have more time to get the fire looking more realistic, but there's a part of me that likes the stylized look that I came up with. Also, that I didn't have time to do much with the ground. I'd considered having the black silhouette of blades of grass in the foreground and little fires between its feet, where the grass was being burned up, but it just wasn't to be.
