Description
This is by no means professional... just something I put together a while ago when I did my senior project a couple years ago. I'm submitting it by request of a friend. It's a similar process that I used to make Porcus so... Adunno, enjoy XDRelated content

Instuh-fave. The technique described here is much more valuable than a lot of long video tutorials I've seen. Thank you very much for sharing this!

The method of coloring using overlay on grayscale seems really, really genius (it was mentioned in the May edition of ImagineFX, though it was mixed with a bunch of other techniques--easily missed, in other words) and I can't wait to try it.
This is a great, simple tutorial that gets the idea of using overlay out there. Thank you.

No problem! Glad you found it useful. They mentioned it this past may? I think I remember them bringing it up in the Q&A section sometime last year too.. I will have to check my May edition for this year XD I haven't really got a chance to read through the last 4 issues I've received yet... ._. But yes, it is certainly a useful technique :]

May ask where you found the watercolor brushes? Are they on photoshop or did you download them?

You certainly may :] All the brushes I used here come with Photoshop. This was PS version 7, so I'm pretty sure you should be covered... The brushes are about half way down the list, and if you're looking at small thumbnails, it kinda looks like a tilted rectangle. You'll have to read the names of the brushes by mousing over them. Some of them are chalk brushes (which are also good, you'll just have to play around :])

It looks nice but the full view is very small and I can't see it.

yeah, you have to click "download" at the side. That will open a new page with the original size.

Nice, the black and white underpainting is a neat idea to try out.

Wow, looks good. He's a pretty cool looking character, too. I always liked the concept of animal-taurs for some reason, or centaurs... probably because I'm a sagittarius, heh, so I also really like archery!
I'm just getting into photoshop so this helps me somewhat and letting me know different techniques I could try, so thanks for uploading (or rather, thanks to your friend for making you upload it. XD)
